Cruise Control

Sometimes the cruise turns on easily, sometimes I have to press the button 20 times, sometimes the thing just wont start after pressing millions of times.

I have no idea where to start, have you guys ever been in this situation, please help.

Is there a way with the TECH2 to look at it while tryin to run it?

First step is to disconnect the negative battery terminal (in the trunk) for 15 minutes, then reconnect it. For some odd reason, the cruise ends up getting messed up somehow in the computers and doing this resets the computer and often fixes the cruise control issues. When I first got my Cobalt, cruise didn't work and doing the battery trick fixed it.

If that doesn't help, the next possibilities are the wheel switches, the clutch position sensor, and the brake sensor.

So everytime the cruise starts messin up, I should remove the negative cable from the battery for 15min and this should fix my problem, will this also reset my clock/radio chanels, etc?
