DI possible?

I see the newer 2.4s are direct injected, from wiki: LAF

The LAF is a direct injected 2.4 L. It uses technology based on GM’s other four-cylinder direct injection applications, but with unique features designed for its specific application. This includes an 11.4:1 compression ratio that helps build power, slightly dished pistons that increase combustion efficiency and injectors with an application-specific flow rate.

So new pistons, injectors, what else would one need to make a DI Cobalt? Just a thought exercise for now, awfully quiet in here

I may start scrounging around if this proves doable, I wonder if stock compression would work well enough with DI? Save having to change pistons.

DI+ZZPs supercharger kit, oh yes.

Pistons are very different. Engine management system is way more complex. Not worth the effort.

U would have to have pistons that are designed for direct injecton that have the fuel bowl on the piston

Its not possible because the ECU doesn't support DI. The cost of going DI far out weights the benefits.
