Downpipes

I am searching for an aftermarket downpipe that is the exact same length/size as the stock one so it will bolt to my CA v1 header, which is stock length. I also plan on getting the JBP header in a couple months which also is stock length so I want the downpipe to be able to fit in those categories. I haven't heard of any lately but I do remember seeing a couple in the past.

Ok I remember that the XTC downpipe is the exact same fit as stock, but are there more?

There are a couple companies that sell just downpipes, all of them will work with the stock header and the JBP garbage header later on. I'd advise you strongly against both the XTC downpipe and the JBP header, in my experience, the fitment problems are horrible, and that header has never shown any real power gains, nor is it built well.

Check with Clear Image, get a real header/dp combo, will cost less and work better.

allll i need to know is which downpipes fit the stock header. if CIA catless DP fits the stock header, im getting it. it seems to be the best candidate for sound and least likely for throwing a CEL, which im not going to worry about until january 2012.

I bought one way back in the day, had some issues with it from the start, but nothing that was major, so I ran it. It had a slight mis-alignment from the get-go, became a problem once I started running nitrous. The angle and the temperatures corresponded to melt several flex sections, all different brands. It just never really fit right. OEM manifold to GMPP exhaust.

Clear Image offers a stock replacement DP, but I'd STRONGLY advise you to just get thier whole header/dp combo, as opposed to a shorty header and a stock replacement DP. The shorty headers are average at best, and the JBP one is horrible. Call them, they can set you up with whatever you need and are super easy to work with.

I don't mean to thread jack, but since were on the topic, I have a question. I have a CA V2 header, and a CTI 3" high flow catted downpipe, to a stock 2.5 cat back. I was wondering is a 3" dp too big because I'm N/A? Should I try to get a 2.5 instead? I looked around, and it seems like cobalt addiction is the only place that makes 2.5 downpipes. Everything else is 3".

2.5. anything bigger is too much for NA on our cars. way too much. ZZP has a 2.5 downpipe. CIA has a 2.5 as well.

Hmm looks like I'll put my lsj dp back on for now then.

Alright I went to cia http://www.clearimageautomotive.com/Chevy%20Cobalt.htm I see downpipe, but it doesn't specify weather or not it's 2.5 or 3" unless I'm missing it.

The ZZP is 3" it says it right there. "Our 3" downpipe includes a Magnaflow converter," https://www.zzperformance.com/cobalt...=540&catid=155

Oh wait look what I found:

Our products are custom built to order and not usually in stock

*

Headers, exhaust and intake kits are custom built to order, so the exact shipping date can not be guaranteed, usually 3 to 6 weeks from the time the order is placed.

Now how the hell do I order something there is nothing to click on....

You call them, or email. Its a personalized process which is nice so they can work with you and your custom needs but it takes forever. Quality without efficiency. Good product, slow service. It's kind of like buying a Mac Book Pro, you cringe at the price but you know what you're going to get out of it. I hate Apple but that was the best reference I could make
