Dual exhaust?

Has anyone ever put dual exhausts on a 2.4l cobalt? I am going to need a new exhaust after I get the ZZP bolt on turbo kit and I was looking at this. Thoughts?

Thanks, I was just wondering if it would be stupid or effective. I'll be sure to look around more because as you can tell I'm still fairly new.

you dont really "need" a new exhaust , you can still run the stock exhaust with the zzp turbo kit.

I think the sound is better, but You actually lose low end torque, but gain high end I thought?

Apologies for my response earlier, hadn't seen your post count. Honestly going duals creates airflow disturbance unless you go with a real nice splitter. Even then it's going to effect exhaust flow negatively. Can look nice, but for the extra cost and body work it's not worth it IMO.

a true dual exhaust on a 4 cyl wont work. you will lose power. The only way to pull it off is a single exhaust leading into a "T" or "Y" shaped muffler. Even if you do 2x 1.5 inch to match your intake diameter. you still could have turbulence/velocity loss. There are a few 4 cylinders that have factory duals, but they arent true dual exhaust, an

dual exhaust work for v6s, and v8s etc due to two exhaust manifolds. inline 4 cylinders have one.

Jack your car up and look at the stock layout, you will see why it will be more trouble than it worth.

If you are turbo'ing you want max exhaust velocity, so you want a single exhaust 3 inch.

I have the 3 inch zzp exhaust cat'd . When i originally turbo'd the car i went mufflerless, but it was obnoxiously loud, and first cop that hears you will pull you over.

I later put in a flow master muffler, nothing special, just to quiet.

+1 for the zzp exhaust, its cheap, sounds great. recommend you select the muffler option though

the zzp exhaust sounds great @ WOT with their turbo kit.

I had rattling when i first put it on, most noticable at low speeds/reversing. you can move it/bend hangers to tweak it though

If you want a cheap good exhaust go with Trubendz. I have full 3 inch SS mandrel bent piping and a borla Xr-1 muffler and borla tip.

Dual exhaust is pure aesthetics and useless on an inline4(as others have stated). Unless you plan on breaking 300hp/tq, you will need to go ahead and get 3".

When I did the 3" catback, everyone thought I was an idiot, too loud, no reason to have 3", ect; little did they know what I was planning on doing. I wasn't about to spend 500$ on exhaust multiple times whenever it got restrictive...
Currently I have badmab shorty, ZZP 3" catted DP, and 3" JMB performance catback.

Do you guys think it would benefit me if I remove my dual exhaust and just make it a single outlet?

Yes, a inline 4 has one exhaust manifold, and obviously. .., 1 cylinder bank, so a single pipe is allways going to be more performance for a 4 cylinder. You could allways have a "double pipe " tip though... Like the last 6 inches of your exhaust could be a double pipe tip

Double exhaust is for cars with a V6/V8. Since they have 2 cylinder banks, 3/4 respectivly, and thus two exhaust manifoldd. Inline 6 are best with a single exhaust, unless they have two exhaust manifolds, 3 cylinders each

There isn't a company that makes a manifold for our cars that splits up cylinders into 2 exhausts for a reason
