For the 1/4 mile that is
I am the first and heres what I got.
Car had a 1/4 tank of premium and 3500kms on the odometer. Calgary is at 3200ft above sea-level. However that is misleading---the density altitude (what the air is actaully like) is close to 5000+FT!!!
Here are the uncorrected times:
60ft 2.57
330 6.98
1/8 10.59
MPH 67.89
1000 13.72
1/4 mile 16.34
MPH 85.65
Now corrected works out to 15.5@ 89-90mph.
NHRA has an altitude correction factor of +0.8 sec for Calgarys elevation. I have personally raced the same car in Calgary and then in St Thomas Dragway in Ontario and have got -0.8 sec there.
So you can see my 60ft times SUCK!! If that could be knocked down to a 2.3-2.2 then
it should be a 16.1---or 15.3 sea-level.
OBSERAVTIONS:
FWD manual cars are very hard to launch. I have never raced one before.
First run got lots of axle hop
Even on the 1-2 gear changes it got some wheel hop.
Raced a Qaud 4 HO 180 Beretta GTZ and beat him (16.7@81mph)
ION Redline ran a 15.8 @ 92 witha 2.7 60ft---obviously has more in that then the times suggest.
Damn near impossible to hold the throttle at a constant rpm!!
Lastly I got a 0.06 R/T!!! Not as good as my 0.00 I got this year in my Firebird....but
So I hope to see more 2.4L SS owners run. Hope you can launch!!

Good Job! Those are pretty respectable numbers. I have driven a brand new 2.4L SS. Didn't push it hard at all cause it was new, but it felt like it had a fair bit in reserve. Those all season tires don't usually hook up very good. I'm sure the SS-SC has a few tenths of an advantage just to the sticky Pirelli rubber the Cobalt SS-SC wears!
It has also been pretty cold here in Edmonton, not sure about Clagary the last week, but cold tarmac sure doesn't help launching either!
All in all, the car is as quick as I would have thought.

Nooo....it is LOWER. Look at my corrected numbers. M/T and every other magazone usually have to crroect them for altitude and temp--which they did with the Solstice.
I got 15.5 seconds
Oh and I only got 3 runs in---might go back next week.
