If your looking for performance a single exaust is better then a dual for a inline engine. If you going for looks then just go to a local shop and have them make one.

yea what he said^^^....there are no well known exhaust makers that make a dual exhaust...youll definately have to go custom fab to get one

Is that because the extra muffler off the exhaust system doesn't increase flow any and just adds weight?

It won't flow any better but yes it will add weight which is going backwards if you ask me.

most of the time, with a small engine, they just run a spar line off for the second tip. in other words, there is only one muffler.

http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/te.../photo_03.html

you'll note that the stock SRT4 piping doesn't have a muffler at all, just an inline resonator and two resonator tips. basically, the turbo quiets things down enough to get away with that, it's also why most aftermarket exhausts on the SRT4 are so damn loud.

i do agree that duals look cool on a larger car (like the malibu SS) but on the cobalt... i dunno, i think it would look kinda silly.

Personaly I was thinking a single muffler, with the 1 to 2.

Itd make the car look alot sportier.

That's an aftermarket setup BUT my car did come stock with duals.

By the way, it's custom mendrel bent piping (2 1/2") with Magnaflow mufflers.

Good Lord you could hang glide with that wing! Does any 4-cylinder car need that much downforce?????

Anyway... if anything, go with the dual tips. No need for an extra muffler at all. In my opinion though, one exhaust exit is just fine for the Cobalts... unless you were going side exit...

It's the angle of the picture, it's not that huge.

And it's more of a show item...the turbo is for the performance

Also, downforce has nothing to do with how many cylinders your motor has. Traditionally, it's seen on RWD vehicles, but it can help with FWD vehicles as far as straight line performance and turning wise.

But like I said, I got it cause it's more of a show item.

Haha... it's all good. I just hate big wings. I've read your turbo material though... good stuff.

I didn't like the stock spoiler on there. Good job with the shave. Looks better. I've never been one for spoilers but looks pretty good on your sunfire. My first car was a '96 sunfire gt. Drove the dog out of it like everybody does their first car. The cobalt gets alot better care.
