Sorry to jack the thread, but are you not using 91 octane now? You are in Florida, and with that kind of heat, you are probably running into knock (ignition) retard if you are using a lower octane fuel. Do yourself a favour, and use 91 octane, before you spend (waste?) money on performance mods.

yeah I have an 08 Sport as well and I have only put 91+ in it since I have gotten it. It is recommended in the manual to use it. But I love the sound of my Ark DT-S

I find it interesting that an extra $2 per fill-up is the deciding factor on whether he drops $3-4k on a turbo system...

So true! Should be running 91 anyway, probably leaving 3-4 hp behind by running 87.

Lets see, $4k on a turbo setup for what, +100 hp? $600 on a catback for what, 10hp?

Waaay more gain per dollar with the turbo

Because it is designed to run on 91 or better.

Hey your car not mine,

You must like your engine to knock like a Jehovah's witness on a Sunday morning all because you want to save 2 or 3 dollars.

Go buy a smart car

Also by using a lower grade gas your actually getting less fuel economy because the ecu has to retard the timing in order to adjust for the lower octane fuel. As a result you get less hp and less fuel economy. I remember when i bought my g5 gt home from the dealership they filled it up with 87 octane fuel and the car was not running good at all and the gas lasted like a day and a half lol i knew they put shittty 87 in it. As soon as it was gone i filled my car back up with 91 octane and I immediatly felt a difference in acceleration and my fuel guage. So do yourself a favor and switch to 91 gas especially since your getting mods done to your car. And finally if you havent done it already switch over to synthetic oil that will make a difference with your engine running better as well and up your fuel economy a little more.

before you start modding, learn about your car. And seriously, like said, if maybe 2-5 dollars per week for higher octane is making you decide against spending thousands on a turbo, you shouldn't mod the car. If you use the recommended octane, you will get better gas mileage, which will offset the price difference.

Do a search. It's all there in the forums. Your posts are getting tiresome.
