G6 Shifter?

So the Pontiac G6's have the same automatic transmissions as the automatics that are mated to the LE5, except they have the "slap shift" or manual mode whatever you want to call it. Does anyone know if you can somehow apply that in a Cobalt? Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge the G6 has a 6 speed automatic whereas we only have a 4 speed. I could be wrong but I think that's the facts.

the G6 also came with a 4-speed 4T45 automatic

however I still dont think you can do what you want to do, isnt that Tiptronic crap built into the computer?

really? I didn't know that, my buddy has a 2.4 G6 and he said it was a 6 speed, weird... so if you were to try this could you just use the shift linkage from the G6 or would you have to swap the tranny?

TBH im not sure it is even feasible. us G6 guys were looking to mount the + or - on the steering wheel, hence making paddle shifters. THAT would be easier than adding the tiptronic.

Looks like it would be possible, but not very feasible there would have to be some serious time spent trying to figure that one out, and the PCM in the Cobalts may or may not even have the "tap up/tap down signal" functionality. I figured I would just throw it out there because it would be more exciting to drive. Thanks for the wiring diagram.
