Gm intake is on

got my intake on yesterday. i dont like the box that it comes with i wanted to set it up and just go over from throttle body and sit there but then theres this tube that runs down into the fender which i didnt know how to take out. does anyone know how to do this or have any other sugestions.

If by "box" you mean the new top to the stock air box that the filter sits in, it's pretty handy if you get an RKSport hood or decide to build your own ram air system (see the links in my signature).

leave it

i just wanted to leave the cai the way it is. with the rubber around the top of that plastic. it doesnt seal good against the cloth hood underneath but should it be ok if i leave it the way it is i think it looks great and its definatly sounds awsome. i feel alittle difference not much though.

It will be fine - I don't think anyone else has converted to ram air yet, so there are a lot of them out there set up like yours. Take a look at the link in my sig for the dyno numbers. the GMPP intake without ram air doesn't make much difference. If you get the RKSport hood, or cut your stock hood, there is definitely HP to be had from the total system.

I liked the sound, too, until we built a custom Magnaflow exhaust. Now I can't here it at all because the exhaust is too loud!
