Good bye muffler,ha ha!
Ok before you pass judgement or think I'm pulling rice outta my ass, let me just say.. Whats good for one is not nessacarily good for all! lol..
Yes I took that ugly Coby muffler off and just laid in a piece of straight pipe. Its actually pretty sweet, although illegal here in Alberta, but in all honesty you would never guess it was missing even with the slight noise increase, and oh my god what a sweet noise.. There does feel like a bit of gain in car responce and when u hit a certain rpm its all good..So again I don't do RICE! I just like to be unique is all..I'll put pictures up later in the gallery, and of my co-pilot too.. Love the site gals and guys!!

um, good luck with emissions?
Also, it will be quite noticeable without a muffler right at the very back for local law enforcement to bust you. I would have personally just done a muffler swap, you would be happier with the results then a straight pipe but that's just me.
Post up pictures when you can..

The emissions control here in Alberta are not the issue eh..As long as you have an operational cat your fine.. Its the muffler problem, but its only bolted on and if they pull me over I'll plead stupid then just rebolt my muffler on and use the pipe for performance playing at the solo 2 racing that comes bye in the summer, But again shes not loud so I shouldn't attract to much attention, lol
ok at the risk of sounding stupid...and actually this is alot of work. Why not leave the stock muffler there but you gut it, then round out the holes (i think you'd have to make at least one new one, i'm not sure if the in/out are offset) and run a pipe straight through it? Everything would look ok and legal, but it'd be loud? I wouldn't do it, but it'd be an idea for someone with no emission laws.
I'm with you. The stock muffler is dorky looking. If you want a normal looking muffler I have my stock '04 Monte SS mufflers for sale! Mad cheap, yo!
But yeah, when I had my Honda, I eventually cracked the down-pipe (right before the cat). The hanger snapped the piece off. wow. That thing sounded like a buzz saw! For real. When I drove by people it sounded like I was cutting them in half! On our CRX, our exhaust didn't come in yet. So our exhaust consists of half of the header. It ends IN the engine bay! It sounds like a buzzy Nascar car.
But good luck with it, and post up some pics and even a sound clip!
And buy my mufflers! : P

I agree with you on this one. For example the SRT-4 doesn't have any mufflers on it at all from the factory only 3 or 4 resonators and a cat on the Downpipe. So it's not an Emissions thing. If you run without a cat that would be an emissions thing.

The wing, whats that got to do with the exhaust? lol For ya alls info the 2.4 goes pretty nice if you know how to drive it! And losing that god awful muffler, (which in the 2.4L does sound nice at a certain rpm) was a good idea! I'll see if I can make a sound clip for all you doubters, hehe.. Its a driver thing, and I like to hear my car when I drive! No driving miss daisy crap from me...lol NOTE: when I bought my car the muffler was shot and so when they were good enough to replace it they just bolted another in place so I figured lets experiment and me likey the end result...vroom vroom
