Dealership had my car for over two weeks now...took a week to get the parts in and who ever was assembling the motor put the intake cam in the exhaust side and vise versa so now they had to order new valves and blah blah blah i just want my ****** car back...this waiting game is killing me.

Yup it happend about 1300 miles after my powertrain warranty was up too....but the dealership is still doing most of it under warranty. I'll end up paying a few hundred but atleast most of my motor will be rebuilt.

If he put the wrong cam in the wrong place he should be fired. It's kinda hard when the intake cam is longer than the exhaust? I don't how they did that

possible the 2.2/2.4's are different due to the vvt and what not. The rep on the phone who i've been talking to through all this said there where no markings whatso ever on the cams which i find it hard to believe but i've never look at the 2.4 cams outside of the motor so i don't really know. Guess it shows don't take **** outa the package till you know what goes where....i've learned that at work along time ago (amateur diesel mechanic).

Well the valves were overnighted and are to be in this morning and it SUPPOSED to be done today so well see. This isn't the first time i've had to deal with the service dept....once was for tranny work that i had to fight tooth and nail for cause of my short shifter. Its my uncles dealership though and his helped us out on a lot of things including this....but honestly i'm glad this is the last of the warranty worth thats gonna be done on the car..

Got the car back, feels strong from what i can tell. I'll get a list of what all they replaced later...they said there was a lot of paper work on it for the way they are doing the warranty.

they will always say that to try and make you feel bad. and them trying to justify why they wouldnt do it under warrenty, like they did you a favor..

If they would have told me that I would have said,

"good, hopefully there is more next time, I LOVE killing trees and making your hand cramp up"

Considering it was out of the powertrain warranty with 61,500 miles they did do me a favor.

Heh, I know your pain. Mine was recently in for a new transmission, so when I dropped it off, they ripped everything out and then opened the box to discover it was full of electric motors and other doo dads for another car... So my car sat around for two weeks waiting for the actual transmission. Idiots down there I swear.
