Have any Mags tested the 2.4 SS??

I have been searching for magazine reviews or tests of the SS 2.4 with no luck. Has anyone seen any articles?

I believe it was Car and Driver (don't quote me on that) but they tested the sedan and got a 15.6 out of it....they tested the coupe and got a 15.2 or 3 out of the auto and a 15.0 out of the stick

I am trying to find weights of the 4 doors SS. Seems they Edmunds lists it at 3230. Coupe is 2990. Saturn Ion 2.4 quad coupe is listed at 2778..!!! That should be quick!!! (less 450lbs)

Only Motor Trend has tested the 2.4L SS--a 4 door 5 speed--the times as you guys mentioned were 7.1 to 60mph and 15.6 in the 1/4 mile.

Car and Driver has not tested it--I have a subscription.

As for weights the 4 door SS weighs SS: 1302kgs / 2871lbs

Don't beleive all the info on the US website chevrolet.com it is often wrong

Can you look at that review online? I have searched their website and found no review for the 2006 SS.

if you own the 4 door SS there should be a sticker on the end of one of the doors with all the weights listed for your car.

the stickers do not list car weights. THey listed maximum gross vehicle weight.
That is the weight of the car, full of passengers and luggage.

I posted the link to the weight of the 4 door SS and it is 100% correct.

That is a good link. What I am really looking for is a magazine review with performance stats. That should help the guy with the question about the weight of the car.

don't worry--Car and Driver has never tested a 2.4L---those guys never even acknowledged the new model in there new carissue last fall.

Stock--several memebers have raced it and got a best of 15.2

You really have to wind it up to get it to go--otherwise--yes it does not come accross that fast. Doesn't have that great s/c torque

When i test drove the cobalts, the 2.4 didn't seem all that much faster than the 2.2. so, i decided upon a 2LT rather than a SS. For a few non related reasons (i wanted foglamps) I test drove another SS and the dealer advised me to wind er out. Once you hit that 4000 RPM point, the car is a different animal. It just builds sick power from there on, it's really like a whole other car. I could believe a low 15 if you were in the right locale and could drive.

HAHAHA ROTFL A 15.0 Give me a break. No offense, but there is no way that the 2.4 MT is capable of anywhere CLOSE to that bone stock.
