Header advice

I got the GMPP header yesterday and tried to install it but couldnt ge the bolts off of the downpipe end. My friend keeps tellign me to get a ceramic header instead but i dont want to spend more. Has anyone had good luck with the GMPP header and seen performance gains. It prety much looks exactly like the stock one.

If you cant get the bolts off go to Home Depot and get some liquid wrench. It will help you alot.

You should be fine with that manifold though. Just make sure you get a free flowing Down pipe. I think the header is over rated on these cars.

liquid wrench works pretty good. i had a hard time getting them out for my friends car and one of the heads on the bolt snapped. i got another one replaced under warranty (gm tech) and put it on as well as an exhaust. to me it didnt seem like it made any improvements in power wise

I was just thinkign about having the dealer install the header because i still need to order the gaskets for it and they would ahve a much easier time doin it. I kno it costs money though. A 2.5" dowpipe with a high flow cat would be the best bet in replacing the stock right?

You should be able to re use both the gaskets. I would say 99% of people do and alot of exhaust dont leak.

I would honestly recommend the ZZP Dp. You wont be disapointed with it.

You can get it from www.zzperformance.com. You should get it all installed at once. Dont pay more then 100 bucks labor for both to be installed.

I wouldn't reuse the gasket...a few bucks in the beginning could save you much frustration and money in the long run, esp if you have to worry about emissions testing where you are.
