Headers and Fuel Injection..???

So I've finally talked myself into purchasing headers for my 2.4. However, I have to say that I really don't know which is a good set of headers to buy. Is the GM headers alright or would I have to go with some vibrant headers? What is, performance wise, the best value to go with?

Also...not having a supercharged engine or anything, I was thinking of upgrading the fuel injectors and spark plugs. What are good brands to buy and exactly how far can i push the fuel system in the 2.4?

ok. alot of people will recommend (sp?)the pacesetter header. its only $200 and the performance is good. the fuel injectors from an SS S/C will be a nice upgrade from your own(will need tuning).

you also will need the wiring harness from a 2.2L ecotec. i believe stock LSJ injectors are rated 34lb/hr

(injectors) i don't know what they would be new, but they have been selling for like $60 shipped used, on here.
and i don't know what the harness would cost, that you will probably have to get from the dealer.
you see... i own a different engine, I'm just doing what I can to help you out. Regurgitating(sp?) things I've heard the prominent 2.4 guys saying they are doing to make it faster.

heres the link and stuff for that harness.

harness is from a 04 cavilear 2.2 ecotec. and heres the part # on that if you want to try the dealer. 15411879

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm

and the injectors you can get from someone that has stage 1 or 2 that has them laying around. 50 bucks for injectors shipped is plenty. and i think its 60 for harness shipped.

this all works i have it.

ryan. any qs let me know, oh and you cant throw in injectors and start your car itl flood. put them in with harness and then TUNE. i also believe the injectors new for the 34#s are like 50 a piece. or 250$ i dont know there alot though.

Thanks, that helps out a lot with the injector issue and I think i'm going to be upgrading that here in the near future.

However, I talked to Cobalt Addiction the other day and they seem to recomend the CA Headers with the Corsa exhaust. This, as a result, voids the warranty. My delema is that I know next to nothing about the GM exhaust and headers. I bought the GM intake and I have to say that was the biggest dissapointment and I will be correcting that mistake after I take care of the exhaust and header issue. I just don't want to invest my money into somthing that does not really do much. So I'm kinda stuck...do I go with the GM products and risk not seeing much of a difference? Do I buy the cobalt addiction headers with the Corsa exhaust? Or do I break down and buy the Borla Exhaust with a set of headers? I'm really in a pickle with this issue and I'm open to any suggestions from anyone please

well the gmpp intake i was also dissapointed with too. the gmpp performance exhaust is not a dissapointment unless you want to run 2.5 inch or 3 inch exhaust. dont buy the gmpp header its bulky and cast iron not much gain for how big it is. i have the CA header and its amazing. cheap too hard to install but i have the tips on that. um id recomend highly the CA header and CA highflow 2.5 inch downpipe. as for exhaust Gmpp performance and touring is Borla i believe. so there pretty damn good. but its up to you i got the gmpp exhaust for warrenty and sound its great. i love it go for the gmpp but its up to you man.

yeah i just had problems with mine today i think i have a bent rocker or something. its very loud ticking i missed 4th gear i popped it into 2nd for a split sec and pushed the clutch it reved real bad. i think thats what its from. so im hoping the dealer wont read my computer to fix the whatever it is in the valve area.

good luck man.

ryan.

You are not going to void your warranty by getting header/exhaust. You only void the warranty on the part you replace.
