Hesitation Fuel Filter Clogged!!!

So I have been having some hesitation problems for the past two months. My car has just over 33,000 miles on it now.

I had a feeling my fuel filter was clogged, but since the dealer wanted $70 for a new one and said it didn't need replacement until 60k I held off.

Due to my turbo kit install the fuel demands were higher, making the hesitation far worse.

Well today I decided to check it anyways and guess what?
It is nearly impossible to blow any air through it. So it was well past due for a replacement!!!

When I get the new one installed I will update this with the results.

***UPDATE!***

OK so I finally finished changing my clogged fuel filter with a new one.
All I can say is WOW!!! what a difference. My rough idle is gone, my hesitation and fuel pressure problems are gone.

The "System To Rich" CEL has also not returned after about 15 miles of driving.

I strongly recommed that those of you with more than 25,000 miles on your fuel filters change them ASAP!

I had no codes prior to the turbo install. The engine would just hesitate under WOT in second and thrid gear.

After the turbo kit install I did get a 'system to rich' code. Thought it might have something to do with the tune though.

No kidding. I might have to look into this myself. I'm going to try plugs first though. Where is the fuel filter located?

The fuel filter is located in the space behind the fuel tank in the space for the rear crossmember.

I was having some rough idle issues to, I will update with changes when I get it running again.

I couldn't find one anywhere!!!

I bought one for a 1995 Camaro since I no longer need the 3rd return line port on it. It was only $15.

I messed up the new bubble flare I was making on the hard line and now I have to buy a couple fittings to piece it back together.

Hm, maybe that's why mine hesitates.

Here's my problem. I have a CEL.....11 codes......

I have no cat, the AEM CAI which is know for CEL's and messing up the MAF (dryflow filters are terrible in rain).....

So all in all.....to get rid of the hesitation 100%, I'm going to: get a new fuel filter, get a new MAF sensor, get new plugs, get it tuned eventually.....lol. Probally gonna order new plugs this week, and then the fuel filter/MAF sensor next week.

The fuel filters should be replaced at about 25,000 miles or you will notice a major performance difference.

Just think... all that gunk in the filter was in your gasoline...

New plugs and fuel filter should hopefully get her running a bit better.

the fuel filter is pretty easy to change... just pick up a quick-disconnect tool kit from your local parts store ~$10... and get the fuel filter... a couple of guys in the club have done it and it has made a big difference for them... I'm at 17,000 right now and will probably change it the next time I change my oil.

Yeah I would have done it a long time ago, but the dealer tried to charge me $70 for it and I couldn't pick one up at any of the local parts stores!!!

I'm pretty pissed about it now, cause I may have caused damage to my engine with it running lean and all!

mine hesitates sometimes when i dont push the peddle down all the way, it builds boost but doesnt accelerate for a few seconds. i thinkim still running the stock fuel filter but i'll have to check with the guys that did my return fuel system on whether or not they changed it out or not. that could be my issue.

i'm gonna have to look into this if it doesn't take much time to change it out. I don't care about paying for something if it's gonna make my car run better. I'm at about 43,500 so i'd say that it's time
