I got the k&n 2.4l sri and i was wondering instead of running the vent hose to the air intake if i could just put a breather filter there

i have a breather on my valve cover and i never had a problem. Also helps keep oil from blowing back into the intake.....talkin very small drops over a long period of time though. its fine to do!

What do you have to plug the hole in the intake

go to oreillys, ask for vaccum plugs. They come in a pack with the perfect size to fit over the hole. Its like 6bucks.

I just bought a Weapon R intake for my 2.4L, i had it installed for a few days but just took it back off this weekend and re-installed stock one. My car was acting up way too much and it wasn't for any good. I felt the added power from the intake but my check engine light kept coming on with "system to rich" as the code. I had the code turned off "cleared" a couple of times and it just kept coming back.

Car had hard time getting up and going, it would hessitate then deside to go. Driving at like 50 mph in 5th gear the car would start shaking back anf forth like when you're in too high of a gear and going too slow.

Does anyone know a way i can fix this so it runs correctly?

Everything was connected correctly. Made sure all hose clamps were on right and map sensor was in. I've installed a AEM on my buddy's Golf and everything worked for him fine.

I have tried that. My one buddy (owns a car customizing shop) was telling me that with the newer cars they are making it so you cannot reset the codes by disconnecting the battery, you actually have to clear the codes via. code reader port under the dash. Which i had reset twice now. The check engine light was still on when i put the stock intake back on and within a day it shut itsef off and everything is back to normal

I was also told if it was an oil filter than maybe some of that oil got on the map sensor, but it's not an oil filter.

Maybe this is an issue i need to take up with Weapon R.

you mean MAF (mass air flow) sensor. not trying to be an ass just trying to educate. generally, clearing a code wont fix any problems except removing the annoying light on your dash. im gonna guess that maybe you didnt hook up your maf correctly? an intake wont create enough of a dynamic change to cause your ECU to go into crazy mode.

maybe you put the sensor in backwards or something like that

Yeah that's what i meant. MAF! There is only one way for it to go in unless you're going to tap some new holes. The way the holes are offset there is no possible way to **** it up.

Check that your intake connections are well connected. I had a coupling come half disconnected on my CAI and the car started studdering and throwing codes. I reconnected it and restarted the car twice and bam no more CEL and the car has run fine for the last 10k miles.
