I like the Injen CAI because you can switch between both CAI and SRI. It also comes in two colors: black and chrome.

Short Ram is where the filter is located inside the engine bay. Grabs warmer air.
Cold Air is where the filter is located in the fender/bumper area, outside the engine bay. Grabs cooler air.

No HP tuners. Just disconnect the battery before and you should be good.

Most 2.2 intakes fit the 2.4 because of the same engine bay/throttle body setup.

i have an opinion question for everyone. im looking into getting a new intake set up for my 2.4 and i was wondering which i should get. ive heard people rave about the AEM intake but ive seen in numbers that you get more out of the injen cold air set up.

what do you all think.

i appreciate the info

thanks

so ive heard that the injen is CAI and short ram, right? do you have to buy anything else to make it CAI? cuz from what i understand, CAI drops down further into the engine bay, correct?

It comes as a set. Extra pipe for CAI is included.

I like Injen best for this reason. That's my opinion.

Yes...you have to buy the cold air to make it work right ..just kidding. You should search about the CMD intake. You can get universal parts and just need to cut a small rectangle in the tubing for your MAF. All should be under 100$ including filter. Way cheaper if you want to go that route.

from what i have come across, the AEM CAI gives 7hp/17 flb's torque while the INGEN CAI gives 17 hp/16 flb's torque. are these numbers correct?? cause if they are... INGEN all the way (and its cheaper)

if anyone has a different brand... throw em out there.

thanks guys

I believe the Injen 17hp was a typo. It should be 7hp

The Injen won't give 17hp. You'll gain maybe 7. They'll all be about the same as far as performance gain. Injen just has the ability to be switched between SRI and CAI. CAI will drop down in behind your fenderwell to truly pull in cool air, not hot air from the engine bay.

Injen intakes have been rumored to give less CELs than AEM on the 2.4. My Injen has only thrown a code once... and that was when I was autocrossing.

K&N on mine with DEFINATE power gains! It sounds absolutely sick as well. All of us will tell you to get the one WE bought, but it's likely that none of us have had all of em on our cars to see/hear/and feel which really IS the best. Pick a set up and go with it. The difference will be so minimal either way that you'll wonder why you spent so much time sweating over it. Buy one and be done with it.
Best of luck

I am super pleased with my Injen intake, but I would really like to replace the filter with AEM dryflow filter. Does anyone know where the easiest place is to get one?

No not yet I'm one of the people waiting for K&N to get busy, my car is going to be one of the R&D cars that they use also, AEM is testing one out for the 2.4 believe me my car was there as an r&d for aem and it was throwing codes for leanness and even going into limp mode so I talked to the R&D tech at AEM and he said it was still being checked on there First test car and they will call me soon to use my car , by the way I put in for R&D for both of these companies so first come first served to use my car, Then I could put my exhaust on, ecm software tunning, and the AEM or K&N intake one last thing AEM told me that the 2.2 intake was running lean on the 2.4s alot of the time so they are redesigning the intake for the 2.4
