Iridium IX Spark plug question
I installed some NGK Iridiums on my Cobalt a little while ago, and i noticed an increase in muffler baffel. or popping, backfiring whatever you want to call it. And it sounded pretty good. But now I have a Corsa touring exhaust system and it is getting out of control! Its really popping alot. Has anyone had this problem? I'm thinking about putting the stock plugs back in just to try it out. How much performance could I possibly lose?
Thanks guys!
Oh btw, In case anyone who was wondering how a Corsa exhaust sounds like. Me and my tuner buddy are making a high quality video that will be coming soon.

well, people call it a backfire, but if it is backfire you have a serious issue. if its just baffle then its just a side effect of too large an exhaust pipe.
I don't buy that plugs can add significant power. unless there is a change or the plugs are bad I don't think you'll lose anything

Oh ok. Well I know that just adding plugs barely does anything. I wasnt really expecting them to. The corsa is the same diameter exhaust pipe as stock (2.5"). I'm pretty sure its not backfire then. Its not a loud bang or whatever. I dunno, I'll replace the stock plugs and see what happens.
Thanks man

what was the gap set to on the NGKs? if your exhaust is "popping" it might be that your timing is screwed because of the gap, i was you, i'd take the gap from the stock plugs (which is 40 i think?) and regap the NGKs, if that didnt work.. i'd go smaller, 30-35
you got the NGK 3474's right?
