ooooo whats this i see, a gm tune for the 2.4? someone go get this and be our guniea pig :D i remember when i was getting my tune from westers matt told me that there was alot of room for more programming, and that gm probably had some sort of tune planned for our cars.

UpOnGaMe 10-31-2006 04:25 PM

it says this does not change the power out put under normal driving conditions period?

Kage 10-31-2006 06:48 PM

hmm needed to take my car in any way to get a few things looked at and fixed.. just gives me more of a reason to go!

g5mike 10-31-2006 06:51 PM

Damn a tune under warrenty, wonder what kind of gains to expect????

Kage 10-31-2006 06:57 PM

just looked at it better.. read the bottem of the page.

"This calibration will be regarded as a customer option and installed at the customer's expense"

Now how much dose it cost??

g5mike 10-31-2006 07:06 PM

just phoned the dealer, and they only know the info we know,a service advisor is calling me back, looks to be two part numbers involved but the parts guys have neither of these numbers showing yet in their data base...12615498......12615505....If anyone can find out more info that would be great cause I was going for the hp tune soon so I really want to find out more about this

Kage 10-31-2006 07:12 PM

yea on the page it has.

" *Engine diagnostic calibration, P/N 12615505, is required when using calibration P/N 12615498"

both will need to be done, just not sure what this all is or what it will do for us.

I think why the part number was not showing for them, cause this is a part the dealer has to buy in order to do the tune and of coarse make money, still waiting on the call back

I would still like to get some performance info on this

BLKblurr06 10-31-2006 07:50 PM

No performance gain, just prevents performance loss when its really hot outside and when you're running the car hard for long periods of time...bottom line is its a waste of money

In short, it sounds like all it does it prevent your car from going into limp mode under extreme conditions.

g5mike 10-31-2006 10:47 PM

too bad, sounds like a lame duck

I was kinda excited for y'all too... but it just sounds like it would keep the engine performing at a higher temp.

senior_brown 11-01-2006 01:47 AM

well i hope they release more info on this, id definately like to know more, it would be nice if they tuned it for all their own performance parts

celicacobalt 11-01-2006 10:01 AM

well, would this help a car at the drag stip? or only on track lapping?

panblackrose 11-01-2006 10:34 AM

Damn... I was excited as soon as I read the beginning of the post... now... eh. Unless I hear of some performance gains, *pffft*, im not touchin it.

Jackalope 11-01-2006 10:43 AM

And no love for the automatics I see. :::::sigh::::: Oh well.

shortyheldberg 11-02-2006 10:54 AM

All it probabily does is turn the fans on quicker for the car to run a bit cooler like it said no real performance gains. I would like to see GM actually wake this car up some. hopefully for both transmissions

MARIN007 11-02-2006 11:41 AM

I found a stiffy in my pants when I read the title of this thread, but now its a frightened turtle down there. Please GM, help the SS/SC's little brother out. :bye:
