go to magnaflow's web-site. see if they have one for your application. if so write down the part-number. they have a link that lists a bunch of magnaflow dealers. shop around and you will find the best deal.
EDIT: i just checked. they have systems for the I-4 2.0 and 2.2L, but no 2.4. you could just weld in some mufflers until a system for the 2.4 comes out. here's the link
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...455&cat=Cobalt
and for that price, i'd go with weld-ins.

New, Now Available!!!
2.0L I-4 Supercharged, Cobalt SS, Sedan,
2.5" SS tubing, 4" rolled/slash/p-SS tip
they changed it from what it said before but basically when they say sedan right here the only sedan is a 2.4 ss so we share the same exhaust with the s/c ss

As a general rule of thumb, a full cat back is always considered better than just a weld on. The sound will also be a bit deeper with a full cat back I believe. However, our 2.4 SS's already have descent size diamerter tubing. Plus, the cars are still too new to have any piping rot. That'll hinder performance. Thus you could certianly get by with just a muffler, but a cat back would be slightly more advantageous. But you have to ask yourself. Do you want to spend like 500+ for a cat back...or would you be happy with spending 200 or less for JUST a muffler? That part's up to you.
On my Monte I had 2 Dynomax mufflers welded on directly were the stockers were. On my Cadillac, I had a Dynomax welded on in the stock place as well. And on My Accord, I welded on a Ractive muffler. The sound it's self was irrelevent. Irrelevent on any of them. But my point is on all of my cars, I got by just fine with only mufflers.
The last thing is too... How much sound do you want? Actual sound output. On my Accord, I put a Ractive Fireball "canister" muffler. Personally, I think it was a respectable muffler, in terms of canister mufflers. Not annoyingly loud (except on the highway cruising at high speeds even in 5th gear) by any means. On the Cadillac, I only added one muffler. There only was one stock one (not Northstar, just 4.5). The sound output was almost stock. But the idle was the glorious V8 burble I was looking for. But for the Monte, it had 2 mufflers. So it was obviously slightly louder than the Monte LS's single muffler. Mine's the SS wit hthe 3.8 and dualies. Not TRUE duals, but it has a Y pipe, then 2 mufflers and tips. So I replaced the mufflers with 2 Dynomax Super-Turbos (same as I used on the DeVille) and used the OEM offsets and diameter. I also used 2 chrome tips to give it some flair. The car IMO sounds great. It doesn't quite have the "tinny" sound of a Grand Prix GT / GTP, but it's certainly not a 350 either. It sounds great it idle (maybe compare it to a stock 305), then sounds like a deeper stock Monte SS at speed. It's really nice. The only time it's horrible is when you're going up a hill and NOT flooring it. Then it drops in revs and gets really droney. But then you just step on it and it's gone. lol.
But personally, I like how the stock 2.4 exhaust sounds. I like the idle. I just want a little more sound when accelerating. Even a stock sound...but just a little louder. If I'm driving a 4 cylinder, I don't expect it to sound like a 350. So I don't care.
Sorry for rambling. lol...

I got my Cadillac done, including Dynomax Super-Turbo, at Minekie for like $120-ish I believe.
The monte (since there were 2), including the same mufflers, cost me $160-ish, also at Minekie.
Thus, if you just get a universal muffler, plus resonator if you'd like, it'd be less than $150 probably, at Minekie. That's if you buy a Dynomax Super-Turbo for $40. A canister style muffler would run more like $100+ for anything worth a crap.

Hey guys, yesterday at noon a FedEx truck came to my door. I recieved a big ass box containing my Mangaflow catback exhaust. Unfortunatly for me, I was at work 'til 2pm, but when I got out I gunned it home. It was nicely polished 2.25inch piping. I opened it, then closed it, barely got 3/4 of the thing in my trunk and headed for Pipes Performance Exhaust at Warden south of Eglinton. I get there and buddy told me $70 flat and it would be done in an hour. It was 2:30pm and I had to teach tennis from 4-6. They close at 6! Being the impatient baby that I am, I asked a friend to go pay the man $80 since he was going to have it done so soon (Im good like that). So finally 6pm rolls around and my friend picked me up in his recently turboed Nissan 240sx. Needless to say there was a lot of intentional drifting on the way there! So we get there, and it looks sooooo stock. Only after closer inspection can you tell its slightly different. We sit in the car and I turn it on. *drool* The instant quick little rev from the startup gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. At idle, you can barely notice the slightly lower hum. I went outside and let my friend give it a few revs. HOLY SH*T it sounded nice, very similar to something youd hear in Need For Speed: Most Wanted (thats the closest comparison I could think of). There is no Honda rice sound so dont worry.
So overall, I say it was a good buy and great mod for me and for anyone else who wants to try it. Thanks for putting up with my long @$$ story, it almost makes you feel like you were there doesnt it?

I like this:
*drools*
Bwahahahaha!!!!!
Yo man, we NEED sound clips. Like right now. Your acount will be postponed until you do so.
:P
BTW: How much did that exhaust cost you? Without installation. Just the cat back plus shipping.
