muffler?

I'm getting tired of how loud and obnoxious my exhaust sounds.Ever since i put my downpipe and header on its been annoying and i cant take it anymore. It sounds like theres marbles poping around in my muffler. I was wondering if theres a quieter muffler i can put on my car to help decrease the sound? oh and btw i have a pacesetter catback

Thanks

if it sounds like marbles in your muffler, your cat or your old cat probably broke and you have pieces of it in your muffler, that happened to me on my old LSJ

Just change the muffler or add a resonator don't waste more money changing the whole catback.

I heard Turbo xs sound good, quite at cruising and deep on hard acceleration (ttr have them)
But I hearded it on boosted cars. YouTube.

The ones I know that should be ok are:
Magnaflow
Borla
Dynomax

I have a dynomax super turbo muffler on my exhaust.
This muffler diverts the exhaust through an "S" shape to eliminate all the harsh noise that
a straight-through muffler doesn't filter out. It still flows more than enough air for the 2.4, so you won't lose hp.

I have same setup as you pretty much with dynomax muffler.... still a little loud for me.... planning on adding a 2nd resonator.... but dynomax is the quietest from my understanding that wont reduce hp.... like guy said its s shaped.... the only issue i had with it is it had to be mounted on a slight diagonal to keep from rubbing on the rear fender well and melting it.... this is what i know regarding your issue

I don't think it's an exhaust leak.

Oval would look more stockish.... and I don't like the look of the other one because looks like a fart can lol. Just a thought.

i have a dynomax Super turbo muffler 3in to accompany my 3in catback

my review of the muffler is this 1k-3k its a deeper sound and sounds pretty good

3k-4.5k or so is raspy @ WOT
5k-redline it is oddly enough quiet, idk now how to explain it really its just straight thru with no rasp

i have full vibrant header| catted dp | catback, had to get rid of the muffler as cops liked it ^_^

so i tried stock muffler and that was causing back pressure problems or something

then i did the dynomax and its been good to me, sounds awesome when i let off pop's crackle goodness

haha

hate glasspack mufflers(just blow out and get loud)

exhibit a ...see how far it burned the paint off the outside of the body(4") i know that all/majority of the packing has long burned away from the sound of it

for a resonator i recommend either an rsc style or something with a stainless steel packing, or even magnaflow

as for a quiet muffler, stocker would be the cheapest/easiest

Yeah I would get a dynomax muffler and for a resonator either magnaflow or vibrant. Cherry bomb is too cheap and will fail after awhile so don't waste money on it.
