ok...

ok i'm going to sound like a newb or "noob" or whatever you like to call it i just got my cobalt it came straight from gm as one of their "show cars" its a 08 sport brand new i was wondering if there were any mods that i could to to add hp (also would like cheap) but not affect the warrenty please don't flame my ass

A car in their lobby probably. Mine was. Its been around Richmond Speedway giving one of the Busch drivers and some blonde a ride. I know because her hair was all over the back by the window, lol.

Yea also every now and then a GM Dealership will do small "appearance" mods to a car and call it a "show car"

yeah take 20 min. and search around its all here. i also have a 08 Sport. If its your DD then you shouldn't need much more speed. but a simple header, high flow cat, intake, and tune would be more then enough, most likely.

well my uncle is a chevy dealer and it came from GM with all of the pin stripes and it had every single option on it and i guess they used it in some auto shows key word "some" either way its a cobalt to me

But mainly what i'm worried about is if any of this will affect the warrenty? i guess if i have to then i won't do anything since i have a ls3 69 Camaro project coming up

i thought they stopped making the ss/sc in 08? but its just a 2.4 i haven't really been able to do anything to it yet will these websites have parts taht will keep it in warrenty?

Well I have the GMPP performance exhaust and the CAI they didnt void Mine but I also got a HP Tuners Tune and that does.

I may be wrong but I though 08 was going to be the last year for the SC

yea but i love to have the "FAST" car and the cobalt doesn't catch anyones eye as being "fast" everyone knows me especially as the V8 guy but i'll sacrafice V8 (until the camaro's done) for MPG

ahh thanks man! i couldnt figure out for the life of me why a stock cobalt would be called a show car but nwo that u explained it...it definatly makes perfect sense.

I got the GMPP CAI from the dealer ship it does make a difference I paid $288 for it. Im very happy with it Thats all I was running until I got my exhaust then went tune.

This intake will work for your 2.4. 2.2 and 2.4 intakes are the same.

if your uncle owns/runs the dealership then I'm sure he can help push stuff though your warranty after mods, but your best bet would be to either ask him or call the garage at the dealership, and just ask them, hey, I'm planning on getting an after market ____ for my cobalt, with that void the warranty? if they say no say cool can I get that in writing? then your ass=covered

alright i'll probably do that and is there a way to get a good exauhst without get the "fart cannon"?
