Hey blue balt. Yeah thats not mine. Check out Tom Oates chevy on the web. They still have mine. 17k miles and the same exact car. I think it is a little more $, but you may be able to use it to bargain down the one your looking at. Ya know.. a little white lie saying Tom Oates is giving you a better offer etc.. good luck on ur car. It is an awesome value.

I got my 2.4L 5spd for 12,900 with 9700 mi. Every other car around here had like 25K mi on it and the dealer wanted 14,9 or 15,9. I found a SS/SC with 11k mi for 17,9 but i figured with the SS/TC i wouldnt be happy with it, So i bought a 2.4. My theory is i paid 12,9 for my car so i can sink about 10 grand into it still be at less then the price of a SS/TC and well be faster.

What year is your 2.4L?

The place that I'm looking at has it for $14995 and the car has 21000 miles on it. I know I can get a better deal for it as I see people on this site buying 06 SS/SCs with lower mileage for less than that.

Also the money from UPS feel through so I'm going to have to try without a DP now. If I would've gotten the money I would be paying a lot lower a month than I am now. Without the DP there is still hope that I'll be paying the same which is high, but I'm making it thanks to raises at my job. Last year I had no credit and this year I have credit scores that are a few points shy of 700 and I'm 19. If the deal doesn't work out then I'm refinancing my LS into a 48 month loan in Oct when I would be owing 51 months.

I'm currently paying a little over $100 more. I know it's high as hell, but I've made every single payment without being late. My current monthly payment is because last year I had no credit and now I wished I would've have waited a bit more, but I wanted a car then so I'm not complaining. After finding out that my credit scores are now near 700 I can perhaps get a better car for the same or less monthly payment. I'm looking at either the 07 2.4L SS and if that falls through I'm going to wait a little longer and look at 06 SS/SC.

Thats cool. What do you want to do to the car though? You could mod the hell out of either one/ change from SC to TC or do either or on a 2.4L. I had an 05 SS/SC i loved every second of it. I love my 2.4 now and i don't plan on ever getting rid of it, Im getting my turbo next year for it and hopefully by them time im done paying it off i will be well around 400hp is what i want. The only problem i see with buying an 06 SS/SC is its probably going to be beat to ****, and you might wind up spending more money having to keep it running rather than modding.

you wont be able to bargain with them at all on a cobalt, at least right now, if they dont sell it to you for what they want, they will sell it to the next guy for that price

btw i love my 2.4l, i say get the zzp combo with the stock catback, it sounds awesome and feels even better

^^ if you get a turbo and pump out 400 hp im guessing at the crank? thatd be sick. is your car auto then? cause i was thinking of putting a turbo in mine in the summer but its manual and heard the manual tranny doesnt hold the power as well.. but back to the thread, i love the 2.4 and agreed with buying a used SC, unless you know for sure who had it, its gonna have some wear and tear to it externally and internally.. but its all what you want in a car/what you can get.

If I could've, I would buy a an s/c if I were you, however the 2.4 is a billion times better than the 2.2 IMO. Honestly. I blew my friend away in my slightly modded 2.4 against his well modified 2.2..

I honestly should print out this thread and show it to the sales person on Friday.

What would the insurance difference be on a 2.4L vs a SS/SC?

The car comes with a warranty.

If it has the 3 year 36K, it'll still have 15K

If it has the 60K(I doubt) it'll still have 39K

The s/c would probably be a good bit more to insure than the 2.4.. If not, I'll be mad.. lol.
