If you're wondering if you can still use your MAP sensor for your SC build, the answer is YES. You will just have to cut open a 1.5" long piece of 3/4" ID hose and punch a hole through it (to create a good seal. Then, head you your local hardware store, go to the aisle with all the hinges and stuff and look for something that looks like this (on the left, it'll be galvanized steel):

Then go and buy a 40(?) mm long M6x1.0 bolt, two flat washers (slightly oversized), and the shortest steel spacer that they sell (it'll be 1/2" long). Cut both ends off of the plate (to get rid of the holes) and drill a new hole in it near one end that will just barely allow the M6 bolt to pass through. Then bolt everything down to the intake manifold in this order: IM, washer, spacer, washer, plate, bolt. Depending on how it ends up, you may have to remove the upper washer to create enough pressure down against the MAP sensor. I'll see if I can get some pics of it if you need them.

I don't know about all of that. When I used my stock MAP I didn't have to do all of that. I just routed out the hole to line up with the screw hole in the intake and moved on.

Our MAP sensor doesn't have that nice hole in it (at least mine didn't), so there was no way to hold it down without fabbing something up. Mine only had the C-shaped channel on the other side of the hole.

My stock LAP MAP sensor is the same part number of most Cobalts though? Here is what it looked like without the bolt in it and without modifying it.

They may have added the hole in the 2009 parts... ? If it's still the same circuitry and able to be retrofitted to previous applications they may not have changed the p/n.

Well, I am in the GM Parts business and I know they can't change an actual design, or way the item attaches, without changing the part number. This remains a mystery
