I have a 2008 sport coupe with the gmperformance parts air filter installed. I am assuming the car has around 170-180 horsepower. I'm looking to run 87-89 octane, gain horsepower, fuel economy(already 35+hwy), be able to install factory setting on the device, as well as change and modify setting for parts I may install in the future. I want to keep it all naturally aspirated, cams, heads ported, injectors, ignition, high flow exhaust, and all the other necessary performance upgrades. What would be a good programmer for this application?? Looking for into 300+horsepower.

So the 350+ should go to some JBP Tri-Flow cams?

keep in mind that the money you'd be spending on cams, you would need supporting mods and a tune for them to work properly anyways

I just though perhaps I could skip the tuning at the shop each time there's an upgrade by doing the tuning on the programmer. If not I guess I'll just have to do as much of them at once as possible.

I'm some what of a novice at the technicalities but am interested in doing as much of the work as I can do myself. It's how you learn. I "am not" mechanically inclined.

I'm going to go ahead and say there is little to no way you're going to get to 300+hp staying NA. A good 95% of the Supercharged LSJs out there aren't even at that point.

It's possible but I can see how you could have doubt. I'm try to get to at least 290, right where my friend 350z is. I want to stomp that **** haha the cobalt weight less so it has that going for it but it would really have to be right up around three hundred. If they can get impreza wrx stis to over a thousand hp then three hundred n/a is not to hard to grasp for me

You aren't considering wheel horsepower. The 170 that we have is crank. It means nothing. Me have about 150 to the wheels.

Yeah stock LE5's dyno around 150-160 is what iv seen, I still understand your skepticism but I think it may be possible and if its not, supercharger would be the next step but I would like to stay away from unnecessary weight.

I just got it, a day or two ago and I already near mastered the stick. If the sport coupes not rare then try to find a production number for 2008 sport coupe I can't find shot all I get are a bunch of ss production numbers which are low so sport coupes mush be even lower if no information is comming up..
