im not sure higher shift points will make better times because you've only making like 20 (with an auto even less) between 6300 and 7k+.... i'd dyno his ****, find the powerband and adjust to that.... even with a 5spd i rarely go above 6500 without juice...

Typically with VVT motors, you try and rev too high and they fall right on their face cause it can't support the RPM. I say stay with your stock RPM band...if you really have to or want to, turn it up max of 500 RPMs.

At the dynos I went to the 2.4 VVT is still making power even at 7000, mine and Celicacobalt and WSFraziers. Therefore my advice was to Dan and you was take the limit 500 rpm over the stock 6750. Could go higher, but I wouldn't on the stock valve springs (industry rule of thumb).
We also need to reconfigure the 3 tranny maps. See where your L and I and different form D.!
its not a question of if it will make 2 extra hp at 7000+, its a question of if that 2 hp makes any sense to shoot for when you shift... if you wind it out to 8000 i bet it will still make more power... its more of a ratio of power-to-rpm-to-time, if your spending extra time making so little power your not making great times.
if you did a 1/4 run with your shift points set somewhere around 6300-6500 vs. 7200, i'm willing to bet you'll see better times.
You want to set your shift points so that when your rpms drop, your dropped back down into the area that makes the most power. wash and repeat. to know these rpms you need a dyno of each gear.
people are far to set on raising thier rpm limiters because thats what everyone else does... its not what my car needs to get better times.
