you may want to think about getting traction bars as well with the motor mounts. that will make sure you have zero wheel hop

keep the downpipe, thats the most restrictive part of the exhaust, put that on. you might be fine with the GMPP catback but it doesnt hurt to upgrade to 2.5", go with megan (cheap and good quality). youll need the tune to hit 14's for sure. i recommend you remove anything unnecessary out of your car like trash, cd's, condoms, girlfriend, boyfriend, beer, everything. you can take it 1 step further and remove your spare tire/jack, passenger seat, rear seats, other girlfriend, and anything else you can think of that would do you good. And also, make your runs with less than an 1/8 of a gas tank, i like to run right before the point of when it blinks and makes noise at you about "Low Fuel". Also you can grab an Ingalls Torque dampener, those are great. And tranny mounts are also very good to have. Here's that list again:

1. 2.5 catback
2. tune
3. better tires unless your street tires are still pretty new
4. WEIGHT REDUCTION
5. use most of your gas
6. torque dampener/tranny mounts

and most importantly, keep the downpipe

I know the auto 2.4 I was working with before he traded the car in, had all the basic **** I/H/DP/E and I was still working on his auto tune but he was able to pull a 15.1 @ 91MPH so you are on the right path. Get so nice tires and a tranny mount and a good driver mod and you will hit 14's

Hmm, I am running 16.1's all day long in my 2.4 auto with a Intake and an axle back. This is at 2,700 elevation (roughly). I would be in the low low 15's possibly 14.9x with full bolt ons and a tune?

stock for stock they can beat a new civic si.. it takes a very good driver to make one of those things run well...

i saw 2 or 3 of them at the track and they were all running mid 16's and a ss/sc ran the same day ran a 14.7 on the way home me and the guys i was with were toying a si with a catback and we all killed him when he tried to floor it (there was 1 stock ss/sc 1 modded ss/sc, full exhaust 2.4 with no tune at the time, and a stock g5 gt)

What gives teh Civic Si such a high HP rating? It doesn't have FI and its just a 2.0... Is it that high revving engine that's giving it that much HP?

the thing has such a small high horsepower power band, Si's suck terribly and even have like no torque. If you plan on running your car at 6-7k RPM all day then maybe you might have fun (with no gas left). Thats why I chose the cobalt over it, our power band for horsepower and torque is MUCH more grateful for every kind of driving

That makes it perfect for a twin charged set up like the one ZZP created. I like my cobalt and I am against Honda most of the time. I have a friend that rubo charged an old '94 civic, but I don't find myself disliking that thing. Probably because the turbo, its so much fun though.

The advantage the SIs have is their 4.77:1 gearing....lots of high RPM HP (12+:1 compression) and serious gearing are what make them quick....I'd like to have at least 4.30:1 gearing

Is there somthing im missing about these cars where you need a set of slicks. With a intake header and a tune my car rarely spins the tires off the line.

I have installed the headers but I can't get a tune right now because we don't have enough information about hp tuners for 2.4l and for auto tranny's! If someone here have hints, it will be appreciate!

Click my sig picture for the link to my LE5 Tuning FAQ. It has some good tips to get you started tuning the engine. I have only had the chance to tune one auto trans cobalt so I have not takin the time to right that in to a how to, so many small things in the tranny tune that have to match settings in the engine tune to work right, so I am not going to really give a guide to that.

Does HPTuners have the capability to change the VVT settings yet?
