Smaller rims
Just put my Dunlop M3 Winter sports on for the upcoming snows of New England. I changed out my factory 17" rims for some tirerack 16" alloy rims. What kind of effects will I see because of the different diameter rims?

well, the ride will be much smoother and more comfortable. if you had stock tires it will be quieter as well. if you had wheel hop it will be gone. at the end of winter i don't think i'm gonna want to take my winter wheels off :lol:

Yea that stuff I know, but what I noitced on this morning drive was that my milage jumped up to 30.5 from my previous best of 26.2 with the 17". same drive, same speed?

Check out the differences in tire sizes and weight of the combo vs stock. The size of the rim is only part of the equation. If you have a taller tire your car will move more distance in 1 rotation then you would with a shorter tire. The mpg difference could have changed due to either difference in weight (more effiencey), or difference in wheel/tire height (speedo and computer are set for your stock size tire, using a different size will through that off). |

The larger sidewall will destroy the "feel" of the car in the turns.

You can see in his sig the SS badge on the center of his door, which was only done in '05. They moved the SS badge down in '06. In '05, there was no such thing as a 2.4SS, as it was introduced in '06, meaning if its got an SS badge on the middle of the door, its a 2.0 SS/SC. :twothumbs |
and the 2.0 comes with 18's stock not the 17's

Do your tires have the same diameter as your stockers?

I get about 28.5-29 with my 19"s on.
I got like 34mpg when I took a trip to southern SC (from VA) to visit my parents on the stock 17"s. Man that was badass |

Well that too, but I didnt mention that b/c alot of 2.4's are running the SS/SC 18"s nowadays, so it'd to too hard to tell from that sig pic. But the badge is a dead giveaway.
