SS/SC gauge cluster in 08 2.4?
Ok honestly I dont really care for the silver face gauges and was wanting the 160mph speedometer. Would I need to get an 07-08 cluster or would I need to do a TC cluster? I dont know the electronic differences and searching produced limited information. So any info would be great.

Yeah, but since the clusters are the same size I would assume the numbers would be spaced differently. Wouldn't that give you an innaccurate reading?
Maybe I'm missing something.

Electronically Controled. The signal is what tells the speedo what to display. By tuning the Computer you can change that. IE when I put 4.11's in my Camaro, the speedo was off, but a tune fixed that. My guess is with the way the clusters are set up, it just reads the speed the computer says it's going.
Edit:
The most concern would be what mileage is on the cluster you put in.

I agree, the speedo is just displaying whatever the bcm tells it, should (fingers crossed) be plug and play. Worst case you might have to get a dealer to tweak the bcm with a tech-2 to "tell" it that the speedo is different.
The Camaro needed to be tweaked because the speed sensor is at the trans output - "before" the diff. The bcm needs to know the gear ratio to apply a correction to get the actual road speed to send to the speedo. FWD the speed signal is "after" the diff, so no gear ratio correction would be required if you were to regear your Balt.
Back in the day (dating myself a bit here ) we had to change the speedo gears in the tranny to get the cable driven speedo to read right, life is soooo much easier now

ok, then this cluster is different from the other GM Clusters, or it's a fairly new feature. My Camaro, the mileage is stored in the Cluster as well as my Silverado. Which actually is kinda retarded, makes it easier for some odometer fraud.
