I'd be very, very, surprised if the 2.4L has a forged crankshaft......that's some pretty serious hardware.

i'm pretty sure the rods are forged , the crank is not

everythings "rated" to 250.. but that was from a big shot of nitrous.. so it isn't the same as boost

Yes the Rods are forged... The crank shaft is not but the pistons are curved and oil cooled to reduce friction. Lol i talked to bill hahn for an hour on his 2.4 solstice turbo build.

They were forged in the fires of mt Doom and are imbued with Magic runes that give them a +3 to not breaking @ least thats what it says in the owners manual

I doubt they are... because the build book suggests you have to upgrade them at the same power level as for the 2.2 ones.
Plus as they are the exact same size and length as the 2.2 ones, I won't be surprised they are exactly the same ones

Doesn't the 2.4L have a slightly bigger cylinder bore than the 2.2L?

http://media.gm.com/us/powertrain/en...tec/08_LE5.xls

ok i found the one for the 2.2... technically it's forged but they're forged powder metal instead of forged steel like on the 2.0 and 2.4..

the one for the lsj is being tempermental right now but i'll make a new thread

Search for this title on gmtuner source, 104742-enginehandbook-complete-web and it says specs about the 2.2 on page 83 (the book page). It never really says if the rods are forged, it just talks about upgrading them and they are good to 250hp It says the crank is cast.
