Supercharging a 2.4?

Someone told me that an M62 supercharger would work on the 2.4l engine and that there is tuning available to make it work properly. Is this true? lol also, if it is, what would i need to put it all together and make it work the way its supposed to, including the tune?

Sry if theres already a post about this. Thanks for everyones time.

Tell "SOMEONE" to do it, then show you how it works!

All the more reason to get a procharger. Self contained, and you can buy a BOV, people will assume you have a turbo. Easy installation and the intimidation factor of a turbo

Welcome to the site. That is one hell of a first post. Here is what I recommend. First, read, a lot. There are many threads on this topic. Second, what you are proposing is in fact possible. However, for use to tell you what you need to do it would require a semester of school. It just can't be addressed in an internet post. Start smaller, like "what options exist for forced induction on the LE5 engine" Go from there.

that being said I'm hoping to procharge my 2.4L ion by the end of the summer or so

There is a supercharged 2.2, so it's possible. It's on youtube and the guy is a member here too. Like Halfcent said, you have to research different options.

i personally wouldn't put the heaton on you're 2.4 it's inefficient as hell... and it'll be just as much money and more work then just getting a procharger or turbo and it will give less gains

Yea, im learning myself on this whole procharger deal. After I buy books and whatnot for school Im just gonna save up my money and invest in a professional procharger build. Just need to find a shop that is certified to install procharger systems and has the capability of tuning the 2.4.

People are intimidated because they don't understand how a turbo system works or what is involved.

When you take the time to learn how it works, it's not complicated and it really starts to make sense overall.

I know that there are books out there that will help you out...I own a couple. If you're that curious, PM me.

lol, when I read his post I thought he meant they were more mean sounding. Like if someone on the street heard a turbo and a BOV they would think "crap, better stay away, that thing has a turbo!"

but can't forget, centifrugal superchargers, such as the Procharger you want, can utilize BOV's too, b/c the centrifrugal superchargers operate similarly to a turbocharger, hence why they look very similar. Its the roots type superchargers that can't really use BOV's. So if you get a Procharger for your car, you too could have that "intimidating whoosh" lurking under your hood as well.
