Supercharging vs Turbocharging

Hey I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on whether turbocharging or supercharging is more effective on the 2.4l Cobalt SS. I've looking at this for quite some time. It looks to me that that supercharging is a little bit cheaper though I would not get as much of a power gain as I would with a turbo. Open to advice!

Sry man but I will say/ask this first.
Research here, especially this whole 2.4 section. Look for way back dates.
If all that's done, it should help you choose.

Now, you need to point out your goal. What do you want out of your car?

the search function on this site sucks...so either just scroll thru the 2.4 section or go to google and type in what you are looking for and add "cobalt ss" and it will always be at the top.

but like what was already stated, whats your power goal, budget, use for the car, etc?

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I've spent hours on this site looking around at what people have done. The ZZP performance kits look pretty legit and there were some pretty good numbers with the turbo. I'll just keep looking around. Question. Is the external wastegate dump into the atmosphere illegal? I heard it sounds cool though. I would like to take it to the track sometime. Its quick off the line but after that its pretty slow. I would like to spend about 3-4 grand.

the turbo will be much more efficient than the supercharger but if you don't have the money the SC would be a blast and you will have great gains over stock.... it sounds cool and its always nice to have instant boost. but if you have the money and your looking to make big numbers turbo is the way to go. best of luck to you man! hope everything works out!
