TC Light with AEM CAI

Okay, right after my boyfriend installed the AEM CAI on my 2.4L, I've been getting the traction control light aswell as the CEL.

Both lights don't stay on all the time, but they do appear every once in a while and the car jerks hard when it shifts if the TC light is on.

WTF?

We tried disconnecting the battery for 30minutes but it came right back after driving for about half an hour.

when the t/c lights and stuff come on...is it during heavy acceleration, or when the car is shifting under heavy acceleration???

unplug the battery for a few minutes then plug it back in, you should be fine after that. sometimes it takes a few times.

ok, well if this started happening right after the intake was installed...first try and take it somewhere and see what DTC is. Also, double check the intake, make sure there are no vacuume leaks, and make sure the MAF sensor is installed correctly, not backwards or anything.

[boyfriend]

Yeah, I double checked everything from the MAF sensor to the vac. line to the valve cover.

Everything is good. I dunno, I've done bolt-on's to other cars before, Ive had 2g Eclipse's, Hondas, 2 240sx's at one time, and this is my first time messing with a American car.

The MAF bolts in one way so there's no way I could have messed that up.

as i recall, on GM cars, the TC light will come on if the car is going into "limp mode" but i dunno about cobalts...

my seat of the pants guess would be that there is something effing with that sensor. put the OEM intake back in and see what happens. also, make sure that MAF didn't get any dirt in it.

I have an AEM CAI on my 2.4SS w/ no problems, but I dont have an auto, so I can't really help ya w/ the TC light. Then again, my CEL is on 24/7 b/c I have a de-cat midpipe, so whether or not the AEM intake is messing up.......well, I really wouldn't know. Good luck though.
