Thinking about DP

So far as you see from my sig I've got the GM intake and GM catback. I'm assuming the next smartest step would be high flow cat or downpipe. If so, which companies are producing the best ones at the moment?

Is that header/downpipe combo on their site for $370 for real?!?! That is cheap as hell and not to mention like 15-20hp. http://www.zzperformance.com/cobalt_...=545&catid=155
If so which options should I get if I want the cat and I want to bolt on to the GM catback.

My zzp i had a while ago and a whistle noise similar to a leak, that would never go away. I don't know if they fixed it or not but i beleive it had to do with the flex section of it. Just warning ya

This is definitely my next mod, this might actually bring me up to the SS/SC, if not pretty damn close. I'm ordering it with the high flow cat too, I don't really need to be illegal on top of how fast I drive.

must be using different ones cuz mines been fine...and you will never keep up with an ss/sc even with i/h/e and tune they are 220+whp out of the box man sorry to burst your bubble. i love my 2.4 but it needs boost or spray to keep up and thats just that

my ass. i have never heard of a SS/SC at 220whp out of the box. they range from 195-208 from what ive seen. and its intake, header, downpipe, highflow cat, catback and dyno tune. but most likely you are still right, i will probably fall short 5-10whp.

Man, Im glad I checked this thread out, these are definetely the next things on my list, and to be available in a combo is awesome, the 370 price is sweet, but by the time you upgrade everything to stainless and ceramic coating and such it is pushing 600, still not bad for a dp/h combo, I will definetely be checking this out, was kinda uncertain if i was even going to do this mod, as the mod bug has started to diminish ha, but i think it has regained life haha thanks zzp!

Like I said b4 even with all our bolt on's and larger injectors with tune we still if lucky will hit 180-190whp. and at the same weight as the ss/sc that still leads to us being raped on the track or the street. like i said it's boost or spary to keep up.

later

The GMPP Exhaust is 2.25" - perfect for n/a, however a 2.5" is best if you plan on going f/i. Turbo's work on a pressure differential between ex manifold and downpipe. The greater the difference, the faster it will spin.

^^ the only GM part offered in that combo is the extruded honed exhaust manifold, this will prove beneficial to 2.2 guys but you will still get the most out of a true header, unfortunately the only dp to my knowledge that is GM is one from a SC or upgrading that way, there is no aftermarket one, it looks like this may be one of the best options right now, I have the gmpp exhaust as well, as much as i would like to continue with the gm theme, i think that this combo will provide the most benefit, but this is also up to each persons discretion, hope that helps man, good luck with finding a good combo
