Trouble with Injen?

Is anybody having trouble's with the Injen intake system. Mine has been forcing a cel light and causing a miss. I know it is the intake because if I go back to the stocker it stops doing it. Just drop a line if your having troubles......

mine would come on then go off. It did it for about two weeks. On a day off a day. Then it finally stayed on and ran like s%@t. I switched out to the stock intake and it smoothed right out and the light went (duces)

i had cel problems with mine too but just the lean code.. and then some traction control light issues (dont know if they are related) They went away on their own and the car runs pretty good, just the usual dip in power before the vvt kicks in.

I have been running mine in both Short ram config, and also cai. I never had a cel. I would make sure your sensor is plugged in all the way. Also dis-connect the battery for 20 minutes or so, to try to reset the ecm.

What code are you actually throwing?

If you don't have an OBDII reader, take it to a local Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts (something of that nature), they will give you a free scan.

Maybe a dumb question but what grade of gas are you running?

ok guys same thing happened to me whats going on is when you put your intake on it was way to oiled and getting into your mass air flow sensor. little by little it will gradually get worse so my suggestion is take off your intake wash it and remove all of your oil thats on it. if problem stills remains your maf might be ruined

Thumbs down

To answer all of the questions. The only gas I put in it is the highest grade available......varies per station some 91 some 93. The filter was washed out before I even put it on the car. Also, the code it is throwing is for a misfire condition. Both the dealer and onstar have told me that. So, I don't lnow whats up, maybe I just have to have the ecm flashed every 6000 miles, because that is almost the exhact mileage it's happening at. First was at 6000 then 12000 now 18000. I dunno. Glad I save all of my dealer reciepts because each one of them shows the mileage and what was done......maybe I could talk them into a new ecm

I'll give it a shot, because once the nitrous gets here i'm using the injen. I don't want to drill holes in my stock ****. (always keep original parts for the inevitable returns to the dealership) Especially with certain aftermarket things

No problems here... I do believe I was the first one on here to put the Injen intake on a 2.4. I've been running it for a long time now.

You definately don't want to wash off your filter and get rid of the oil. You're gonna get an assload of dirt into the engine. They're oiled like that for a reason. That's why I went with the AEM intake because it was a dry filter.

I have the short ram Injen on and have had absolutely no problems except it rubbing against the inside of the hood. Also some people have had luck unplugging the battery and installing it so I did mine that way just incase. Try to get someone to erase the code then unplug the battery, if that doesn't work, well then I dunno...lol good luck with it and lemme know how it works out

Trouble with AEM?

I went to the track tonight and after my first two runs my check engine light came on. Does everyone think that its probably the intake and will go away after i get the ecm tuned?

You only just installed your intake a couple of days ago. Did you disconnect your battery during the install to reset your ECU or did you skip this step?
