The exhaust noise is based off the diameter of the pipe and the muffler right?? I started thinking instead of paying for a Magnaflow cat back what about this.. EXHAUST (i was looking at the 2.5 Stainless) its not Magnaflow piping but its a Magnaflow muffler.. for half the price, is there any different??

piping is piping, as long as you use the same size piping, the same muffler, and the same resonator if it has one, it will sound the same.

 

you would need to add a resonator to that, but yes if you got the magnaflow resonator it would sound the same

 

my magnaflow sounded like hell....

 

s/c cars are going to sound like ass regardless.

 

my hahn sounded good till all the packing came out of it...

i can make you eat those words lemme get a vid and upload my exhaust... **** is pretty bad ass.. not rice, all deep tone.. vibrant longtube headers, vibrant dp with gutted cat.. straight piping to a vibrant street performance muffler... i had a magnaflo muffler before and that **** sounded like ASSS... it was horrible.. 110% different and improved sound since i changed mufflers... from cold start to running at Operating temp the sound is deep the entire time... and its a 06 SC balt.

You have to realize though that everyone's idea of good sound will differ. I don't like the sound of most 4cyl cars. Plus Gutted cat's often make things sound like aluminum cans in a bag / pennies in a can / etc.
My ZZP h/dp with cat, stock resonator and a large summit muffler still are too loud for me.
Hahn 3" was WAAAY too loud.

Post it up. If it sounds decent on a s/c car, it will surely sound good on an n/a 2.4.

 

SWEEEEEET!!! well.. it sounded like that with my magna flo... the magnaflo was a piece of **** tooo.. lol.. well the people at the muffler shop even agreed how much better the sound was lol.. but gimme a chance to post it cuz im at work right now.. lol..

 

Trubendz is awesome. Josh will hook you up and it is all quality. I've bought 2 systems from him and they were both top notch, he also got me the tips I wanted and the model of muffler. He'll get you anything you want even if it isn't listed on the site. All you have to do is ask.

Was that a cold start? did it have the cold start mode disabled in the tune? that always makes the car sound like it launched a sparkplug or something.
