Upgrades???

Had my cobalt 2.4l for about 7 months just now started looking into upgrades, and I was wondering if they where wourth the money. Just wanted some opinoins, if I was gonna start off with cold air intake probally the one made by K&N and a new exhuast. Just wondering if i was putting money into it would I enjoy driving it and really how many cars would i be out powering??? just dont wanna think i have a peice of work thats badass and a ford focus pulls up blowing me away. Just asking hope to here good things tho

i vote, cold air intake, catback exhaust, and short throw.. the CAI will open it up alot, and the exhaust will help in the top-end of the powerband...

GMPP intake, CA header, GMPP catback, that should net you about 25 to 30hp at the wheels.

Yeah def man. With my CAI, header, downpipe and cat-back + my suspension mods, brake mods and short throw, my car is a blast to drive. Its plenty quick, and will be even quicker once I tune it with HP Tuners and put my SS/SC injectors in. You'll be a good competitor for RSXs, new Civic Si's, Sentra SE-Rs, etc etc. And even stock you should be able to walks the gayest car out there, aka the Scion TC, lol. (Sorry, I just hate those cars with a passion).

dude, if you know your car is badass... not too many ford focuses will be a problem i'm pretty sure you can dust them in stock trim..

slap a blower on it.

Go intake first, then exhaust, ocne you have that done and a feel for your car, think about the heavier mods like forced induction, mounts, dampener, etc etc. Thats what i have come to think after being on this site for a week fellas correct me if im wrong.

good exactly what I was looking for, curiouse why you recommened the gmpparts over the k&n. I also noticed most people with the injen CAI i figured since the k@N was built for 2.4 spec and the others where for 2.0 2.2 it would be the best buy, but i dont know a lil more feed back and Thanks for the help fellas

PS i have a 07 and I think the SAI is not compatable with the Injen CAI, anymore recommendations or should I just go with the K&N

The LE5 does not have SAI, no worries there for you.

i just like the injen cold air intake, looks cleaner, but hey, go with whatever floats your boat. I live by the idea of 'you get what you pay for' and usually if u pay a lil more u get a lil more.

Same here I like the Injen cai, but I switched out the filter with a aem dryflow. I would also recomend corsa sport exhuast and a header and down pipe combo. Along with a good tune.

4 Subs, 3 mids, 2 amps, 1 head unit.... just turn up the radio and you wont hear the fart-can focus next to you.

Then we all wont have to read the infamous, "OH SNAP I hate cops cause i got a speeding ticket" thread.

Reason I asked was because you will end up wasting money or spending money twice if you don't have a good plan ahead of time.

Good questions.... I am facing the same dilema.... I'd like to slowly put some performance parts on, but don't want to spend my money all at once.
