do the sc injector swap, some engine back exhaust, intake it , and tune the **** outta it, do some traction mods and you should be good to go. the tune from doc or whoever SUPPOSEDLY drops u're 1/4 a second and thats on an auto.... If you start doing engine work... man the 2.4 is a beast

and some F/I would just be fun... maybe F/I and the NAWZ lol... u'll destroy alot of cars easily

I grew up on manuals and I had trouble with my New Beetle Turbo S and the SRT-4 I drove. Don't judge other cars on the SRT-4. Both it and my VW had very low compression engines and little flywheel effect off boost, plus touchy throttles and bad clutch feel. They're both tough to not stall (I'm an ex-racer and would still stall the VW occasionally). My daughter hated driving my VW.

Some cars are much harder to drive than others.

But if you want to keep your car and work with it, I suggest a turbo. It's a bolt-on kit. Alpine will have one out with tune for the 2.4 auto by next week. I know because my car is at Alpine right now sitting on the dyno and they will install the first 2.4/auto kit tomorrow.

Buy a cheap ass car and learn to drive on that. My honda cost me $380 and its almost impossible to stall unless you do it on purpose.

I think it's already paid for itself in teaching me to drive stick

reaching 2.0 power levels should be easy

I only wish I had the extra 30HP from the 2.4 + the ability to tune.

No doubt in my mind that with bolt ons, 75 shot of nitrous, and ss/sc injectors + 7K tune you would be in the 13's. If not you're doing something wrong!

Eh well...some people want the 2.0, I want the 2.4!

Well that doesn't go for everyone i wish they would,ve offered the ssc in auto i hate the standard, keep the SS and wait till the turbo comes out for them. It is the best platform for the car because of the 2.4. as someones signiture says there is no replacement for displacement, that is true!

I'd trade transmissions with you, but it wouldnt work on my end.

Your PCM could be tuned to work with my automatic, and our trannys would bolt up, but my PCM would flip **** since theres no way tune mine to forget about the auto.

Isnt the block of both engines the same? so that would mean that even if the 2.4 is 2.4vs2.0, the difference is only on piston displacement right? Plus the 2.0 motor has the better internals for boost right?

I have all these goodies you speak of,I'm looking at tieing them all together in two to threeweeks when I have some issues with my head cleared up.But You might also want to consider a clutch, cause mine is not liking the extra power

There's a great book out there that you should be able to buy through a dealership's service/parts dept. that has everything you could possibly need to go from a base to a ss/sc plus.

"GM SPORT COMPACT Performance Build Book" Part Number 88958646

That's all I can give. I've got the book in front of me if you need more description. (I believe it was only 12 bux.)

We have a couple 2.4s with a few bolt ons and a tune can beat a stock SS/SC in a quarter due to wheel spin.
