You'll probably want to install a trans cooler for an auto. Supercharger kit is going to be cheaper, but a turbocharger is going to net you more power, so you have to decide what fits best with your budget and goals.

Ok I pieced my SC kit. I love it. It came out to 3K. I'm gonna save for a Turbo. From zzp. I wish they had kits back when I was looking. Their customer service is amazing! U get the stage 2 with exhaust ur looking at 260 whp. Our cars don't need internal work til 300 who. That's when u need rods and pistons. But 260 who should be enough. The tranny I would add a cooler just to be safe. Also ur tune have em tune the tranny. Contact zzp they will answer all ur questions. They have tons of experience with our cars. Also I would get a shop to do it. No offense to ur bf but if he is just alright take it to a shop. U will need a tune. Idk if he knows how to tune. But go Turbo leaves room for more power. U can get near or over 300 a bit with supercharger but Turbo u can easy.

With a stage 3 u are over 300whp from zzp. But if u go over 300 u will need rods and pistons.

Only in 2.2 land. ZZPs stage 3 auto 2.4 SS is around 350 to the wheels and is still running strong to this day!

Only the 08s like myself need internal upgrades....

I'm 2008 2.4 sad day.... haha. But I heard all 2.4 were 300 whp! 2.2 at 250. I'm gonna go stg 2 and stay below 300. But might save up to get internals idk yet...I'm in Colorado and on the street I'm pretty quick. So don't need much more to be one of the quickest 2.4.

The 06-07 2.4s had stronger internals. Us 08s apparently got the shaft.

350 is pretty safe for an 06-07 2.4 though I think it might need valve springs at that level.

For the OP look into zzp its going to be one of your best bets. Stay away from the hahn setups.

personally...i had the same question when i was trying to decide...i ended up going with the supercharger kit from zzp...it was a disaster...didnt get the right parts...horrible customer service...but it seems as tho i was the only one who had this experiance...everyone else seems to love them so idk...but i just took off my supercharger kit(stage 2 and trying to sell pretty cheap if anyone is interested) and am going turbo because i am trying to hit 400 to the wheels...the supercharger was not too bad but if u really wanna make power i would say buy the kit...sell the M-62 blower and buy a tvs blower...they put down power...and its an easier kit to install...took me 4 hours!

Way too much work. Buy the turbo kit and be done. 2200+ whatever a tvs cost + further cooling mods = more than the stage 3 turbo kit and still not as much power. The only TVS powered 2.4 (although owned by an idiot) put out far far far less power than the stage 3 turbo kit (I think at least 80whp less) But then again it was owned by an idiot. But seriously dont bother with a tvs on a 2.4.... Theres a reason LSJ guys are going turbo over supercharger. Its cheaper and easier in the long run!

Don't forget about me Navy man STILL trying to dial this SC stage 1 'kit' into a DD...next up, HPTuners.

willing to part out your dual pass and 3.1 pulley? I'll take your #60 injectors too...more money than brains, these upgrades are almost full time jobs.

Can't speak for the turbo, but the SC isn't quite plug and play. YMMV

well right now im trying to sell the whole kit to someone....but if no one hops on it ill let you know...and the tvs charger puts down just as much power as the stage 3...excpecially with the 2.5 in pully(supposedly 20psi) and i have a stage 3 heat exchanger and duel pass so the cooling is taken care of...selling the whole kit for a grand...plus possibility of a used tvs for like 15 or a new one for 2k...either way its cheaper than the turbo kit...but once u do that...u cant do anything else...ur stuck...with a turbo u can always do more
