I hope so! My money and my engine are on the line!

Latest report: Alpine is a bit short handed now, and in getting other kits out not much progress was made Monday. But I told them I'd rather have it right and later than thrown together and sooner. I'm getting a BIT anxious to see it run on the dyno (and drive it to see how much street performance a few thousand buys). I've owned a bunch of turbo cars so I know what to expect ('65 Corvair factory turbo, '83 Renault Fuego Turbo, '87 Shelby CSX, Eagle Talon TSi, '89 Chrysler LeBaron GTS/Shelby Lancer clone).

87 Shelby CSX and the Omni GLHS were what I cut my first turbo teeth on. The CSX would eat 944s all day long. I loved the look on 924/944 and auto 928 driver's faces when we waived bye bye... The Fuego turbo ranks up there with the Renault Alliance GTA. Remember that car...phew ahead of their time but alas time flies (for the better sometimes).

bump. so far I've heard no one has made this kit work properly. One has blown an engine, another has a stuck open injector and others are having issues with the SMT-6 working with the ECU. How are you coming? So far the results are disappointing.

well, ive come to realization that stock pcm tuning is required as well as adding a piggyback. im hoping that later this month i will be fully running strong. i have my wastegate wide open right now to help from boosting so early so that the car is drivable till its fixed. once i close the wastegate ill have full bost at 2800 rpm and will hold til i let off. i hae actually had thisd car wot at 5 psi which is what it still boosts with an open wastegate and it pulls pretty hard with this crappy tune. should be fast as hell with 10 psi and tuned.

Good luck with the combo. Mine was almost scary fast with 8-9 PSI at WOT. You should see 0-60 in the low 6's with the auto.

Another thing that is probably hanging your tuner up is the 1 bar sensor. Even though its not being used for airflow measurements as long as the MAF is working, it is used to reference the injector flow rate table. Since your 1 bar map maxes at 100kpa, logically so will your IFR table. It would have to be compensated by changes in the MAF similar to what LSJ guys do with 60lb injectors.
