Whats your city gas mileage?

For 2.4L ONLY.

Just wondering whats the best CITY mileage you got between fill ups. I do the math rather then rely soley fuel economy display.--don't get me wrong its very good but off a tiny bit. Tell your transmission type too.

8.45L per 100/km= 28 US MPG= 33 CDN MPG
5 speed
(before switching to synthetic)

Guys, does it really matter what fuel I use. I mean if i'm running low on cash, I get 87..since its that is so high these days...but...if I have some money to spare I get 93 gold. But what really gets me , that some people say it does..but my fuel reader still says 23.4 or 23.7 ... It never goes up when I use the best gas out there. I only use BP, or Amaco fuel also. I don't know what the local shops have in their gas......well thats my two cents anyway...do any of u tell a difference in type of fuel grade u select?

Hey a 4 dr SS--cool!

For reference I use 91,92 or 94 only and reset the fuel on ever fill up. One reason that our fuel milages can vay so much is we each have different commuting routes to work.

And then there is pleasure/errand driving.

I admit I dont have many stoplights and at times can cruise at 80-100km/h but its not for too long and then on the way home traffic moves, very, very slowly.

my worst fuel mileage was 24, I think. I do have to baby it a bit, but not all the time

your mileage should be better than this guys! where do you shift at (what rpm?) i know in my 2.0 i see 24-25 city all the time. Maybe your shifting to high. I hit about 5-7 psi starting up and about 2500 rpm at the shift. A word of advice, cruising in 5th gear at 40 saves an assload of gas. Just be very gentle on the peddle and gas should increase. O and btw, i usually limit myself to flooring it only one a trip! lol

Do you reset the economy gauge each time you fill up?

^^^, Yes I Do. Everysingle time. I get about 280-300 on a full tank. And It normally holds 12.5 on full up, so 280 is 22.4, and 300 is 24....and mine is automatic...so I shift when the car shifts for me... lol I still think I should be getting better mpg...in my opinion anyway....

you should buddy, thats why i dont like automatics anymore, no control really, it just shifts depending on how much throttle you give it, i guess youll just have to ease of the gas a lil

Seriously.... get a Prius or an Insight hybrid.... 130 miles a day you'll definately save a whole lot of gas... or heck... just get a $2000 beater and drive it... keep the miles off of the SS.... at that rate you'll be at 100,000 in no time.... say goodbye to that resale value.

Actually, if you read your owners manual, the 2.4L and 2.0L arew required to run 91 octane or higher, and that is what they base there mpg on. When I first got my 2.4L 06 SS in Nov. of 05, I started to run nothing but 89 octane in there, and I had a average of 19-20 mpg city. I just filled it up Friday with 93 octane, and in 3 days I am getting 20-23 mpg city. And that is even driving hard every once in a while. Like when a civic ex with intake and exhaust try me. So to some it all up, fuel does make a BIG difference. Like when people are acking why there CEL is on. Cheap gas tends to clog up your injectors after awhile, plus clogs up your sensors.

Automatic trans.

I get close to 26 mpg in the city, my highway is fairly better than that. I do a lot of city driving too, kind of sucks but I love gas mileage. I get close 350 mils per tank, that's right before my low fuel light comes on.
