wheel bearing problem?
wheel bearing problem?
i have been getting alot of squeeking coming from my front tire area. when i break i get a little bit but when driving normally its constant. the break pads are pretty new. what are some things i can check for? iv heard it could be a wheel bearing, what would this cost to replace? its a pretty loud squeek like nails on a chalkboard. id like to solve this problem before somthing worse comes out of it. thansk for any advise.
It's not a wheel bearing. When they go bad they make a grinding noise and your traction control/ABS light would most likely come on because when they go bad they heat up more than normal and burn the sensor out.
What kind of pads do you have on your car? Did you replace the rotors or at least resurface the rotors when you replaces the pads? If you didn't at least resurface the rotors and put a non directional finish on the it will glaze the pads and make then squeal like a bitch.
Take the brakes apart and clean everything really good would be where I would start...
