X2 chip
X2 chip
This is kind of a follow-up post to this one.
I bought a performance chip from here, and I got a little info from the previous thread I linked to.
I have minimal experience with body work, but I'm a complete n00b when it comes to performance mods. I have a couple questions:
1. Is it easy to install?
2. How much more HP do you think I could get with it? (on a 2.4L)

that x2 really does nothing good for you. Looks like the new chips now have a variable resister with a slide on it for "more power". There is no way you could get 50hp from that, none. If you want some performance mods, look at a intake and search the forum for some help.
No chips will work with the ss forced induction if you have an ss. otherwise jet-chip.com will be a good place to start for naturally aspirated chip needs. they plug in between the harness and the ecu to change signals. I would recommend a good tune though maybe more expensive but worth it in the end.
no chip that just plugs in will do you any good. If you want a real power adder or tune please search the forums and read up! blindly googling and ebaying fast parts is a no-no and a waste of money. With a 2.4 you can tune with trifecta and hpt. Go read into those. You can also look into bolt on parts, intake, exhaust manifold, intake manifold etc. please do not buy those chips.

back on topic though, dont put it in it is a waste of time and money. i put one in my old 88 monte ss from hypertech and the car ran slower. DONT DO IT

Agh this again. While most chips do nothing, you cannot say they ALL do nothing, as the Jet Performance Module actually does something, and it is for the good. No, it is not as good as a full on, trifecta or hpt tune, but its better than stock and people on here have used it, including myself.
I ran both the stage 1 and stage 2 jet modules on my 2.4 and had zero issues. They did help out. But as im an auto and wanted a bit more I sold both of them and am going full tune (that and the jet modules wont remove torque management...)
The power control module jet makes actually piggybacks the ecu, not a obd2 tuner.
