You know what the F in F-23 stands for?

it stands for "F-ing garbage"

i'm on my second tranny and second gear synchro is starting to go out.

looks like i'll have to set some money aside for rebuilding my old one. Going to look into regearing it and tossing in a LSD

if you call 100+ hp/tq over stock beating the **** out of it then yeah i suppose that could be it

All these cavi guys with the f-23 are always talking about how the tranny itself can handle over 300tq but mine dont seem to be as fortunate.

That tranny is not supposed to be supporting those numbers. its not really beating the **** out of it.

haha yeah no ****. i was thinking of swapping over to the F-35 but then i'd need staged axles, flywheel, clutch and a whole bunch of other garbage. probably be cheaper just to regear the f-23

not to mention the f-35 doesnt seem to be much better in reliability haha.

start looking into a F35 swap... all you need to do is find out if theres any ecu issues and get a custom lsj flywheel machined with 6 holes instead of 8... once i get my **** running I'm going to be looking into this as my next project... f35 regeared for a usable 1st gear...

oh, yeah.. and a clutch, and axels, and shifter, and cables, and a bunch of other ****...

How is too much gearbox torque eating synchronizers?

Sounds more like a misinstalled clutch issue.

beck's issue maybe mostly driving style and short shifter... he had the same issue with stock. Californians... pbbt..

thats not to say we shoudnt have stronger synchos...

i do a lot of downshifting, which is probably one of the biggest strains on the the tranny. the clutch is installed propery. i've only notcied the synchro issue on downshifts, not on the upshift yet.

Clutch alignment has nothing to do with syncros. If he is going through them this quickly it would have to be something he is doing or his shift linkage is incorrectly adjusted. Down shifting would not cause this issue either unless you are talking about doing 100MPH and trying to pull it in to 2nd.

An incorrectly bled clutch or incorrect flywheel thickness causes incomplete clutch disengagement leading to premature synchronizer wear.
