Hey everyone that owns a 2door & automatic 2.4L SS cobalt! I got 2 questions how does it drive and what is the top speed you have had yours?

 

i own one and i love it it corners like a dream and it is very smooth on the highway and i have had it up to about 115 ish. got too much to live for not worth going any faster

 

its an awesome car

 

I have one--just got it not even a week ago--and I love it so far. I'm still breaking it in, so I haven't really been gunning it. I will admit though, it drives so smoothly that I sometimes don't realize that I've gone from 65mph to 82! Bad for the breaking in....

yea i got me one of those....lol i've had it up to 120 mph which is all it would allow

if ur like me and dont have much to live for get an ss s/c stock i had it to 140 now the fastest ive been was 148-150 thats cuz i ran out of road

 

I've gotten mine up to 115 than I had to slow down cuz of traffic. All out I love my SS 2.4L

They have v-rated M+S (all-season) tires, so they should be governed < 130 MPH. 4th gear is a lower ratio (0.68) than 5th in manual cars (0.69), and the autos run a lower final drive ratio (3.63 vs. 3.84), so the 5-speeds may get more speed. 4th gear in an auto may be too low to use with 171HP.

 

I've had mine at 120 but ran out of bridge. I love the car. First oneI ever owned that was perfect out of the box. But, of couurse I had to do a little customizing

I've only run mine up to 90... too many cops around here... but dispite all the "automatics suck" statements around here... I like my car. I would have gotten a SS/SC but insurance is waaaay too high on those. The dealer had 3 SS 2.4 autos sitting in the lot with identical options... white, yellow, and silver...




I think my choice is obvious...

 

So far have put on the Injen CAI. and the magna flow exhaust. Right now my DC strut bar is on the way. Pretty soon my Eibach sportlines will be getting here. And in the very near future will be ordering an anti-sway kit from eibach. That's the bolt-on's. A friend of mine will be taking the seats sometime soon and embroidering the ss logo on them. That's what is floating on the brain for now, but i'm sure more will come up. Even with all the mod's I was very happy and content with stock. This is my 3'rd brand new car and the only one I thought to myself was perfect.......

I hear that on the insurance for SS/SC. I pay only 75$ a month for my insurance, I love discounts and perfect driving records!! State Farm owns. But anyway, I've gotten mine to about 110 before I braked, I also had 3 folks in the car with me. It was at about the 3,000 mile marker when I tried that. I actually remember one of my friends being like, "You tested to see how fast it goes?" That's when I tried it haha. It handles awesome though. The automatic is really smooth and I'm not sure I'd go back and trade it for a manual and I love manuals. But at my best guess, I'd say it wouldn't go over 125.
