ZZP S252 Turbo 2.4 3 inch cat'd exhaust sound demo

i made a quick and dirty sound clip/video demonstration for the 2.4 community

Hopefully for anyone building a ZZP turbo 2.4, this will give you an idea of what the turbo + exhaust sound like in car

Yes, girlfriend held the iPhone in the air above center console / arm rest.

If you would like to hear idle or basically and quick vid/demo of the kit let me know.

I don't want to show off or compete/race/burn tires if I make any vids, I just want to help anyone thinking about getting the kit with questions. I know I had LOTS of questions when I was piecing it all together ha has

sound just like mine lol, but in mine the turbo is a little louder. Is the sound that was recorded was exactly the same as the in person sound?

no, it doesnt sound the same in the recording.

phones have garbage mics to begin with, plus they compress videos when you record them, plus when i edited it, i used another sound codec on top of it. so no, its not identical to irl. it is alot louder/better in real life.

no car sound clip/dyno video on the internet is ever going to be close to what a car sounds like in real life, between microphones quality, file compression, then youtube or w/e additional codec compresssion, its never going to be 100% accurate.

i do LOVE the whine of a SC, mother ******* banshee scream!

my wastegate dumps back into my exhaust, instead of atmosphere, so it is quieter ( more power to )

thanks for the kind comments everyone i can do an idle video as well, if anyone needs it

Maybe this post will stop the once a week "What exhaust should i get?" threads rofl

mines too more of a sleeper
plus when i had the stock muffler.... wow that was quite as hell lol, now i have that lnf sound under throttle.

sleeper ftw!

trolled 5th gen camaro yesterday on the highway, he tried to ricer flyby me in the left lane, i down shifted to 3rd from 5th, matched his speed as he was abreast, he stepped on it, and i put 2 cars on him.

we met in a parking lot about 5 mins later, he was a stereotypical 'bro" white sunglasses popped collar and was like "Dude what the **** do you have in that thing?!?!?!"

i told him it was just a bone stock base model cobalt (my car is debaged to look like a base)

i wish i filmed it, the look on his face was so priceless, a contorted mix of sadness/disbelief/shock

his passenger was laughing at the driver of the camaro so hard... i kind of felt a bit bad after my **** eating grin faded

Your missing the quick time audio codec. Watch on computer, not phone. If you are trying to watch on computer, google search "VLC player" and Download, the icon for the player is a orange pylon/traffic cone, or download quick time from apple.

If you don't want to go that/it doesn't work. Let me know, I will re-encode it with a different audio codec.

Will do. It won't be anytime soon/ in next few days, real life and all that boring non-LE5 related ****.

For the video, what do you specifically need to see ?

1st-3rd to compare turbo to supercharger performance ?

Low speed wide open throttle traction/ wheel hop issues? (Car has too much /impractical torque issues currently)

1-5th ? 0-250km+ top speed run ? Will do if you absolutely need it, prefer not to though; hard launches/above 220km for safety/drive train health. Also my "runway" is only "accessible" from 5 am-6am dawn, when police are rotating shifts / zero traffic etc,

80km to 1XX km/200km highway roll /drag race is the preformance benchmark/goal of my powerband. Since I'm a built for sleeper highway trolling/drag pulls.

I won't film any street race/any of my "kills" of fear of incrimination/prosecution etc.

But the girlfriend is willing to simulate in her amazing 70 WHP stock chevy optra :p, willing to do a shot inside the cobalt, or inside the optra or both. To help you gauge preformance.

Let me know specifically what you need to see, willing to burn the gas/make video, as long as its not dangerous/hard on drivetrain etc

hey man, i just joined this site recently but I have had my car since 07. 2.4 all bolt-ons and tuned. I am saving now for the ZZP Kit and was curious about the setup. Can you message me? I would like to ask a few questions before making this upgrade happen.

But yes, I'm Canadian, so I have to help everyone Lol, if you needs pics/video/questions or w/e, I haven't found the time over the last few days to help the community much. Real life and all

Actually car has a very minor coolant issue now I'm diagnosing. By minor, I mean intermittent p0128 once 2 weeks ago, and DIC saying coolant is "---" going to test the sensor circuit for resistance/thermostat, car drives fine and performs as usual, so for me.....naturally it's a catastrophic!!!!

The "issues" that have cropped up since the kit, for me, have so far been related to the turbo generating too much heat and throwing codes from heating nearby harness's. wonder if this one is similar, will update when I fix it

Thanks bud, was reading on forums about that, or thermostat . Since sensor and thermo are Cheap, prolly do them both after circuit test.

Mine was doing the --- when it would get cold and then it started it at any time. Dont remember the code but it ended up being thermostat

how long after installing the kit was this happening?

Sorry guys, I've been fucked in real life lately. Don't even have time to ****!

I'll try and get an update to this.

Hard to say on the "issues" the kit was on in August 2012, drove it until November, no issues. Car sat under a tarp for a Canadian winter for 6 months, then they started to pop up in the 2013 spring. Not sure if it was kit related, or winter. They all seemed to be electrical related, so it might not even be the kit at all.
