I will never buy another "High Performance" FWD car ever again. They need to seriously address that. They barely hook up and can't really take the abuse.
An all out SS model Cruze that is AWD or even just RWD would find my name in its registration. Until then, no thanks.

I think it will be a badass little car. It will probably pack the same motor that will be in the Buick Verano turbo (250+ hp) The ss/sc was good, the ss/tc was better, the cruze ss will most likely best both cobalt ss's. I'm excited to see what they come up with being the cruze is already built so much better than the cobalt.

The economy cobalt yes but not the SS,
we will see what needs replaced on that car once they get some real power. Modern Performance is testing products on the cruze now & are not releasing info untill they recieve the correct air filter to run. I just think the gains will be too small for the amount of money that it will cost to mod.
If they do come out w/ a SS model & it has the LNF in it then I will be convinced that the cruze will have a decent performance platform.
I have noticed they already have time attack cruzes w/GM performance paint schemes on them but I have never paid attention to how well they are doing on the tracks.
Bottom line is they wanted a better economy car & econo cobalt compared to a cruze of any model is no contest lol.

an AWD package would be extremely interesting. To be honest i doubt the Cruze will feature the SS tier. Just my gut feeling, but you never know! Upgraded interior would be a super plus considering thats what GM has lacked in significantly lately!

Officially Official: 2012 Buick Verano is one part Cruze, one part Regal — Autoblog
for your info, this new buick will be given a modified lnf a year after it's debut. What's going to be modified? Most certainly the head, but there's also speculation about the turbo as well. discuss.

If you want RWD, get a Camaro, Mustang, or Corvette. That will satisfy your appetite. The Cobalt and Cruze SS are meant to be fun daily drivers, not drag cars. And they accomplish that goal very well, my SS has been a great DD.
I always maintained that its pointless to try and make a FWD 4 cylinder car into a drag car, and I still stand by that.
