There will be no Chevy Cruze SS... or will there?

Soo the US doesn't get it but AUS will? pff. Whatever I guess we will see what GM says but this is getting ridiculous. I'm going to get Bill GMPP at CED drunk and see what we can pull from him

Anyone who was holding their breath waiting for General Motors to announce an SS version of the Cruze can officially breathe. However, what you can't do is get excited; the Cruze will not be wearing the double-S badge. What GM is reportedly considering instead is to offer a more luxurious Cruze. That version would feature a more powerful optional engine, but it's certainly not the version SS fans were hoping for.
However, rumor has it that our Aussie friends could still get a sporty Cruze. Motor Trend has heard rumblings of a sportier Cruze powered by either the 177-horsepower turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four or 268-horsepower twin-turbo four-cylinder found on the Opel Astra OPC.
This just proves... well, nothing really. We'll just have to wait and see what GM actually has in store.

I suppose our only hope is the Astra VXR GTC concept, helped along by lotus, is brought to US shores...I wouldn't bet on it though.
Ya no @#$@#$ joke. How long ago did the focus ST come out in UK but we are getting it this year?! still no RS yet...god how lame.

I remember reading reviews of the Pontiac G8 GT having BMW as its competition for buyers. The editors were just raving about the Pontiac G8 GT.
The one time GM brings over a decent GM car the Pontiac G8 GT from Australia (yes I know the GTO was a version of a Austrtalian car also) its gets axed along with the whole company.

I will test drive a ST. As much as I love the SS, I miss the creature comforts of my ms3. I want to track a lot but there isn't anything close! So, why not choose a car thats still fast around a track but is comfortable and has some flipping options.
