If you want the 1.4L turbocharged engine you'll have to settle for a automatic transmission. Yup thats right you can only get a manual trans, with the LS all higher trims only have the auto trans you can't even select a manual transmission. So much for it being a tuner car.

Well when 95% of the people buying one are going to get an automatic why would they make one an option on every trim? That just adds costs to them which will add costs to the buyer.

True but GM was making the 1.4L in the Cruze out to be a big hit with tuners. The engine itself may be a big hit but not in the Cruze I suppose unless a high performance version comes along.

 

Glad to hear! Could care less about the cruze I hope its a giant fail so GM regrets killing the cobalt off, just my opinion but karma comes around lol.

 

I don't hope it fails but I thought they would have at least given the option for the LT manual or auto.

 

just so you know thats a Daewoo. diff car manufacturer altogether the chevys in Korea have a bowtie still but the car names are diff but look the same as in the US

JSYK GM owns daewoo .its just a rebadged Cruze. they are the same car.

I hate to say it, but the Cruze will be GM's Honda Civic as far as tuners are concerned. All appearance with an anemic engine.

 

i would never buy that car with that tiny ass engine only making 138hp

 

the look of cruze kept reminding me of hyundai and kias, then i found out it was made by daewoo and it makes so much sense now...

and those "tuner" cruze pictures don't appeal to me at all....

I am sure the 1.8 will have plenty of potential but its hard to say at this point. Hondas engines are not anemic in any way either. Lets see an ecotec break 100hp/liter NA and then be able to still handle boost reliably. That will be the day...
