For a pair of H1 bulbs, it is $60 shipped.

We sell just ballast(s) by themselves. It is $40 shipped for one ballast. It comes with just the connection that attaches the ballast to the bulb. So you need the connection that attaches the ballast to the power source, be it a relay harness or a PnP harness that draws power directly from your OEM connection.

I have another brand (eBay) HID kit that uses the stock wiring to connect to the power harness for the ballasts (Hella brand I believe). Will your $15 Relay harness work to connect the ballasts properly directly to a power source? Also what does the kit include? I'm assuming a relay, connectors, and wiring harness? Any way I could get a picture to make sure my ballast connectors will hook up? Thanks...

 

i already have some HIDs but one of my bulbs burnt out or something cuz it doesnt stay on, only flickers when i turn them on and then shuts off so i was wondering if i can just order the bulbs even if the ballasts or the hid kit is another brand? if so what size or what bulb is it that i need to get thanx alot

so.. the single bean xenon its just one bulb and the Bi-xenon are two bulbs short and bright light?

 

If the bulb is flickering it seems like the ballast is bad or there is an electrical problem. If the bulb was burnt out it most likely would not turn on at all. Double check the wiring, and if that doesn't solve it, but a new ballast...

 

thanx for the info well i checked the wiring and its fine so i connected everything and now the bulb doesnt even flicker so i took it out and theres a crack on the little blue line thing one the bulb so now what? you think it was the bulb the whole time or i have to replace the ballast Thanx again for the help

 

It sounds like a crack on the return lead for the bulb. In that case, it is probably only a problem with the bulb. Replace it and see how it works out.

 

hmm yeah ill try that but any way my original question was if i could buy this brand of bulb and still be able to connect it to the ballast i believe its halo brand or something thanx again

For just H1 HID bulbs it is $60 shipped for a pair. But you need the rest of an HID kit (ballast and connectors) to make everything work.

For just 1 ballast, it is $40 shipped

As long as your ballast are similar to ours then yes it will work with your kit. Most every kit on the market today uses the same type of connectors so you should be good to go.


But our relay harness comes with 2 connections for each ballast and 1 connector for your OEM connection, 1 ground wire and 1 power wire with inline fuse and of course the relay

And here is a little diagram of the harness. This a 9006 harness, the only difference is the OEM connection.


A good way to check to see if it is a bulb or ballast is to make a note of which side is bad. Passenger or drivers side, then from there move the ballast around, passenger or drivers side and vise versa. See if the problem follows the ballast. If it does it is the ballast, if it does not it is the bulb.

Also for your car, you either use a 9007 if you have factory headlamps or an H1 or H7 if you have aftermarket projectors depending on what type you have.

The single xenon kit has a xenon low beam and a halogen high beam.

The bi-xenon kit has a xenon low and high. Most people are very satisfied with the single xenon kit as they barely ever use there high beams afterwards.

Quick run down of the differences between 35w and 50w ballast.
-50w ballast are brighter than 35w ballast
-50w ballast drop a bulbs kevlin color by 1000k. So an 8000k bulb will look like a 7000k bulb with 50w ballast.
-50w ballast make the price go up by $15
-50w ballast last just as long as 35w ballast and does not shorten the life of any of the components.

well. installed them. didn't use the harness, just did the plug n play deal. low beams are brighter than stock, not by much though. no blue hue. the high beams however rock ass. the usual hid blue hue.

i may hook up the harness this week and see if it changes the output of the low beams. the low beams don't warm up like the high beams do. am i missing something here? limited output due to not having harness?

We could have pinned it the wrong way where as the halogen bulb is your low beam and your xenon is your high beam. That would explain why your highs beams have a blue hue and have a warm up time.

Ya, we probably just looked at the wrong diagram when we put em into the socket. Most people use the harness, but you can opt out and just use the Plug and Play set up if you wish.

 

I would definitely recommend using the relay harness. The relay harness is still plug and play except you just have to connect it to the batter terminal and to a ground which is super easy... Other than that it is just as easy if not easier than using the plug and play. I was using the plug and play with my eBay kit and I bought one of 3BSpec's relay harnesses. It wired in perfectly with my kit and the install was really easy. It now looks professional and I don't have to worry about overloading my stock wiring. It is a nice harness. Just plug it in and zip tie it to the factory wiring in the front of the engine. You can't even see it once installed...

Yup, they have the xenon low beam and a halogen high beam.

 

you're better off buying the single hid kit without the "high" beam.


what would the upgrade cost of going to dual hid bulbs, low and high beam?

 

After buying a single xenon kit it is an added $140 to upgrade. You get new bulbs, a bi-xenon harness and new ballast

 

may have to do that, because frankly the 194 bulb in the housing now is more of a city light than anything close to a high beam

is the upgrade on the site?
